does anyone on this thread feel better by blaming the other guy for the mess this country is in? I don't care if it's Obama, Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, House Party (II, not I), Santa Claus, or OU that's responsible (although sooners are always at the top of the list). I just want someone with some nutsack to stand out above the mess and start acting like a leader. Hundreds of elected officials in that ratship town, and not a single one can actually take the bull by the horns and make a legitimate argument that shows any resposibility.

meanwhile, the blame game continues.....i would continue, but my soapbox broke. [IMG]

My reading comprehension must be off. See, when you post a quote that says "Axelrod comes out and blames the Tea Party for the Credit downgrade of the US" and your response is

I think there's plenty of blame to go all around. Barack's latest attempt to deflect to previous administration would be laughable, if it weren't so sad and pathetic.

Has he ever actually taken blame for something? Not proposed it, but done it?

Holy ****, Michtex. That was one of the funniest blogs I've ever read. And by funny I mean so utterly retarded that you have to laugh.

What happened to the 2 Trillion $ error the Obama admin accused S & P of making?
A 2 Trillion $ error seems pretty serious.
    Did S& P apologize?
did Obama speak of that error today?

Does Obama's cabinet really think the economy is better off today than it was 3 yrs ago?

I admit I don't always understand the nuances of an economy so

You posted, "Well it is "better" than the economy when Obama took office. "

Can you explain how it is better?

We are much better off than in Jan '09. This is indisputable. And it has all occurred despite Obama.

No, he made it worse. In January 2009, we were 2 years of pain from a strong recovery. Instead, we got a stimulus where we borrowed money from the Chinese to give to the unions, and tens of billions spent to make energy more expensive (windmills). Now, we are 4 years of pain from a good recovery.

Bevo Incognito, your misapplication of the S&P quote (they were obviously talking about their assessment of the tax rate situation, and you posted as if it was the reason for the downgrade, rather than the deficit total) was one of the worst pieces of intentional politicization of a truly serious issue I have seen. It's like scoring points for your side is more important than solving the nation's problems.

I didn't vote for Obama, and avoided posting critical pieces about him for most of his first year. Honestly, I wish he were a success, because that would be good for America. I didn't like Clinton, either, but I would happily take a second helping of the 1990s. By the time the stimulus was rammed through it was clear we're not getting that.

A lot of people post about Obama's economic policies like they're a good idea. I don't know why. For the life of me, I can't think of any examples where Keynesian spending stimuli have actually pulled a nation out of a recession. Obama's policies remind me of the story that ends..."Yeah, it looks pretty good in the shower, but to be honest with you, I'd trade it for one that worked."

The president has few powers to really help the economy, but several that can hurt it. Let's review Obama's actions-

    Stimulus
Not returning TARP repayments to Treasury, but rather spending them
Cash for Clunkers (net negative for the environment and economically wasteful, but protective of union jobs)
    Obamacare
    Overhaul of finance industry
    Takeover of GM and Chrysler
NLRB appointees trying to keep Boeing from creating jobs in right-to-work states

This is Obama's economy. He bought it, with our money, and it's his now.

BTW, for those that claim the president was ready to offer $ trillion in deficit reduction, only to be rejected (I have doubts, as all of this "info" was leaked by anonymous WH sources, and nothing specific written down), cheer up. After the S&P downgrade, the US is ready to hear that offer again, if it isn't imaginary. Bring it on!
