I am laughing so hard I am crying:. Aggies can't figure out why there are so many ads for the Longhorn network on Texags. Some of the responses are great: The Link
If you have an account on Texags, go over on any one of the 27 LHN-related posts on the first page and make a point or ask about the longhorn network, being careful to spell it out.
the big news over there is that they are announcing leaving the conference this afternoon. Or maybe later. For the SEC. And they are glad to be rid of us with all our gay cheating and condescending ways. Wont miss us. They will now get the respect they deserve. I guess it will be coming from LSU and Bama. And Arkansas. But I don't think they are going to like it much.
I can tell them right now that it's based on their individual screen activity. For example.... I just now clicked to that page, scrolled down, and the ad at the bottom was for Adobe design products -- AND I have just the past several days been on Adobe examining various products and did in fact download a trial InDesign product for my daughter (middle school believe it or not). Not only was it an Adobe ad, it was the ad for Teacher & Educator discounts, and had that cute little 80 % graphic on it. It was tailor made for me... and just so happens i have spent a lot of time online searching for different prices, sources and outlets for Adobe design products, and especially spent time at Adobe's site for products precisely geared to that ad... that just happened to appear at the bottom of that TexAgas page. It says to Aggie... guess what you are talking about all the time... and the Borg knows about it. I noticed since Saturday that the same Adobe ad has been appearing on the sides and bottoms of various web pages. For a while it was Cabelas !!!
I use the Ghostery browser plugin that lets you block a lot of the embedded tracking scripts on various sites. My interweb excursions only take me through the most wholesome of neighborhoods, but still.
Can the idiots over there really be that stupid. Google has been doing targeted advertising for years. The intelligence of the average person is very depressing sometimes.
