I am pretty recent to it and have only watched one season from the beginning to end and one half season. I find it fun to watch. If anybody else is watching the beginning of the current season, Season 1,009,349 I believe, who do you want to win so far?

I wonder when/if anybody figures out there is an ex-NFL player in their midst.

Yes I am hooked on that show also. I started watching it in 07 because my wife loved it. I now watch it partly because I like it and the memory of my wife, who I lost in 08 to cancer. As far as who I would like to win, this season for me has no fav pair yet but I should lock on to one soon, maybe the hot sister pair, LOL.

Them or the former showgirls! I almost picked the former Survivor winners because the guy beating cancer was cool. The sentimental choice is Mom and Pop, I think. Oops, I guess I am undecided!

I look forward to going back and watching the past seasons. I am sorry for your loss and I guess your attachment is more personal than mine. It's kind of a neat tribute and takes it to a whole other level while watching.

Thanks 100p for your kindness on my loss. She was a beautiful Czech/Longhorn from West, TX and we played the "Eyes of Texas" at her funeral. To lose someone as special as her at age 39 was something I never expected in my worst nightmare.
I agree Mom and Pop might be a fan fav at this point but I wonder how they will hold up. Yes, the showgirls are candidates also. We will have to see this sunday how it shakes out.

I've only watched a few episodes but have heard very good things about it.

There was a kid from Sugar Land, TX on it with his dad a season or so ago.

Well so much for the showgirls 100p. I am still pulling for the sisters or the snowboarders.

So far there is nobody that really annoys the piss out of me like the Goths did before. Therefore, I cannot reverse mojo curse a team. If I like a team they get eliminated so I am keeping it a secret as to who I am behind now.

That might be a good plan 100p. Yeah the Goths were one the worst teams and they were in the series 2 times 2 many. The deaf guy with his Mom also got on my nerves on their 2nd try. My all time fav groups so far were the Globetrotters (Big Easy and Flighttime) and the real cowboys, Jet and Cord. The 2 lady docs were the group that were the easiet on my eyes however, fell in love with the asian one.

I am an Amazing Race fan. (and it annoys me that it runs on Sunday nights during NFL season, so that I have to adjust the DVR to record for 2 hours because there's at least one game that runs well past 7/6 pm).

That used to bug me too now that I think of it. I had to block off tons of stuff to record just in case. I don't have a dvr any longer so if I miss it I just watch it online and stream it to my tv later.

I liked when Undercover Boss followed it. I don't believe there was no scripting but I liked the show anyway.

In this season I don't want the arguing brother and sister to win but I want them to stick around long enough for a total meltdown.

Amazing Race strikes me as being the least scripted of the so-called reality shows. Maybe.

That sounds about right. I dont watch many if any other shows of this genre but have never thought it was scripted.

Perhaps "scripted" isn't the correct choice of words on my part. It wouldn't surprise me, however, if the producers encourage certain teams or individuals to play up certain aspects of their personalities for the sake of added drama. (but then again, given the high-stress premise of the show, that may not even be necessary. Who knows.)

fwiw, my daughter and I love watching Storm Chasers on the Discovery network.

Watched that show with my wife for several years before scheduling conflicts and work started absorbing soooooo much time. Enjoyed it but really got upset when my all time favorites - two girls that seemed really together - got eliminated because they couldn't find something, the clue I guess, in a field of hay bales - a whole field of them - was pure luck to get the right bale. Anyway night came and they hadn't found it so got eliminated. I know, I know, silly to place so much into it but really liked that team and was sorry to see them go like that - haven't watched it as closely since, but wife won't miss it. Only other show we watched together regularly was 24 - and that's gone.
But we sure don't miss a Horns game at home - or on the TV!

I remember that episode, and I felt so sorry for them.

otoh, one of the funnier challenges involved large cheese wheels and a steep hill:

!!! I have not seen that. I look forward to watching past seasons that I missed out on being a recent arrival to the show.

The cheese wheels and the hill was great. The watermelon slingshot remains my favorite.

I think I've seen pretty much every episode of every season. Easily one of my 2-3 favorite shows.

Favorite team ever was probably the Hippies, followed by the Globetrotters. Didn't like them, but the midget and her sister were really, really entertaining.

But, my favorite moment has to be when a couple teams were trying to find a house they were supposed to paint, saw an open door to some random family's house (who just so happened to be painting that day), and started painting the inside of their house. Absolutely hilarious.

Well, there goes the eye candy or most of it there is. I am officially not going to have a favorite from now on. It did get annoying of the constant reminders of their father passing away earlier in the year. I felt for them but it got tedious. Bye girls.
