Well, since it's early Friday morning and I haven't seen a thread yet, I'll start the guessing 31 - 27 TEXAS
35-21 baylor....That hurts me real bad to type that, but the difference will be griffin. he's a playmaker. We dont have one.
Baylor's playmakers are on offense: RGIII, and Wright. They will manage to put 27 points on the board. Our playmakers are on defense. They will score, and put our anemic offense in position to score. They will also keep Baylor under their season averages in scoring and yards gained. We will win a very close game: Texas 30 Baylor 27
Baylor gives up about 30 pointe a game. Their lowest score this year was 31 against Kansas in Lawrence. They gave up 30. To win we need turnovers. Maybe a couple of interceptions that put us in good field position. Possible the weather will not be good. as rain is possible today and Saturday. Defense wil prevail 27 - 24.
I, too, think our D prevails in a nasty weather setting. No long bombs like last year to ruin the game. Texas wins, 30-20.
Obvious analysis. We will win if our o-line can handle baylors d-line. The formula for us to win is what we did vs. Tech and KU. Hold the ball and run it for lots of yards. If Baylor can force us to pass by getting a big lead we will lose. I have not watched Baylor this season and have no idea how good their defense is.
Our defense is nasty. Baylor will score some but Baylor's defense is very weak. We will score more. Texas 37 Baylor 27.
Texas 34-17 Almost every QB we've played against this year has been humbled by our Defense and I can't imagine things will be that different tomorrow. I expect us to be successful with our short passing game, 10-15 yard plays. Case will most likely have his first INT of the year but it will be a blip on what will be an overall dominating day for us. At least 4 different players will take a snap at the QB position. My parlay has Texas and OU covering.
If the rain holds out AND we don't do a good job of handling RGIII AND our offense plays like it did last week, we lose. Anything else and we win.
All depends on which of our offenses shows up. If it's the one we had against TT and KU, we win. If it's the one that stumbled around the past three games, we can't score enough to win.
If we can get 175-200+ yards rushing and 28 points I think we win this thing. Let's hope for a game plan that keeps RG3 on the bench for long periods of time and has him harassed and rattled when he does have the ball .
Isn't Baylor's rush defense towards the bottom? Like 100+? Someone can double check that, but that bodes very very well for us. I envision a game similar to Tech, especially with bad weather.
It looks like it will be wet, so hopefully we can pound the ball with our running game. If we get 250 - 300 yards rushing AND the D can keep RG3 contained: Texas 37 Baylor 32 If we don't get the rushing game going and RG3 can run or pass at will: Baylor 39 Texas 18
I am hoping that RGIII feels the pressure of the Heisman, and overreaches in his play -- makes some turnovers trying to do too much. If he plays with poise, we are doomed unless we have a 250 plus yard rushing day with no harm from turnovers. Being the optimist, and believing that MB and JB are going to have a good day, I am going 38-31 Texas.
We will need turnovers and a solid defensive effort to win this game (just like we saw in the A&M game). Another 400 yards of rushing would be just the ticket to counteract and help slow Griffin. If not, Baylor wins this one.
If MB and JB run the ball and Case manages the game well with timely 3rd down conversions, we win no matter what Griffin does. Our D will do to RGIII what Suh did to Colt's Heisman chances in the CCG couple of years back.
Berg out with hamstring. Brown questionable with knee. Doesn't bode well for our running game with the type of run blocking we have had. Could be a very long afternoon. Why did the staff keep Berg in against TT when it was apparent that he was hobbled? Paying for it now.
I think Bergeron should have been replaced earlier in the Tech game when it was apparent we were going to win. They kept giving him the ball over and over and then he ended up getting hurt.
