Wasnt it Greg Davis's job evaluate RGIII as a potential QB for Texas? Well I guess Greg can torment Texas with his ineptitude!

RGIII would not have come to TEXAS and sit 2 years behind Colt.

Actually RGIII is a junior. That means he would have had to sit behind Colt just one year, when RGIII could have redshirted.

GD recruited the #1 QB in the country that year and everyone on this board was excited and wouldn't have traded him for anyone. Nice try, though.

I thought this thread was intended to draw parallels to the Harsin offense. This O was more creative and fun to watch in weeks 1-3 when nobody even knew the damn playbook. The delayed draws up the middle and screen passes are about all I can take...Harsin has digressed or he's realized that Boise St. actually had more talent...not sure which.

Sheesh, next we'll hear that GD was responsible for losses before he came here too.

Yes, of course, it was Greg Davis fault. [IMG]

Yes indeed as it was GD's fault we missed that two point conversion against Arkansas in 1964.

GD was the OC and QB coach. He had a heavy hand in evaluation of all QB recruits. If he didn't, that proves just how incompetent and detached he was.

I made some awesome fried chicken for dinner tonight. Used an injection marinade and then fried them suckers in duck fat. Delicious.

He was the QB coach and responsible for the development of GG and Case.

I believe GD had a major influence in the hire of John Mackovic

RGIII wanted to come to Texas, but we would only recruit him as an Athlete. He said that in an interview. He wanted to be a QB, and we couldn't promise him that.

Reminds me of a great coaching story. An old coach greets the new coach and hands him three envelopes, labeled one, two and three. "When you reach a crisis with the AD and the board, open the first envelope. The next time you get in trouble, open the second envelope. The third crisis you open the third."
The coach did as instructed. At the first crisis, he opened the envelope and the paper had the simple instruction. "Blame your predecessor." The coach used the strategy in a news conference and weathered the storm.
A couple of years later he had a losing season and opened the second envelope. "Blame injuries." it said. The coach tried it and it worked.
Finally after a 2-8 season he opened the third envelope. The simple instruction: "Prepare three envelopes."
Sadly, it's looking like the first two envelopes have already been opened.

I wish GD would be held responsible for this cold front in Austin. He brought the winds with it and that makes it cold. Without the wind we'd be fine. The wind blows, he sucks.

It would also be just as funny to blame Greg Davis for not recruiting Cam Newton and trying to recruit Perriloux.

Have you guys seen the South Park with Captain Hindsight? It fits us, ha.

I oppened this thread sadly expecting to see yet more of the same old tired Greg Davis bashing.

I am glad to say that I was totallly wrong.

Thank God, maybe the is the beginning of the end of ripping Greg Davis for every failure in the program.

You know the difference between Greg Davis' offense and this years?

For over ten years GD offenses averaged twice the points and yards that this years did.

The guy is gone, you haters got your wish.

Can't we leave the man alone finally?
