Ducks to Style Darth Vader Unis for Rose Bowl

A few years ago I looked at Oregon's uniforms and found myself saying... Dear God make it stop. Fast forward a few years and it's worse

 

The never ending assortment of Duck skins. As usual, I like. And as usual, i wonder why!

 

I kinna like 'em.

I like 'em better than I liked those Air Jordans that kids were killing each other to get last week.

One of my former elementary/middle school students is the most recruited DB in California. Hes considering Oregon purely because of their uniforms...

 

Coincidentally - The last several teams - Auburn, Alabama, Florida, LSU, Texas - To win national championships - Did so in uniforms that haven't changed significantly since the 1960's...

 

I find Oregon, from their uniforms to their fast style of play, to be a welcome breath of fresh air in college football. Especially their fast style of play.

 

The only trouble is (for Oregon fans) is that they lose when they try to be "tough" by wearing black uniforms (e.g. LSU, USC).

The Ducks are not a smash-mouth football team, and I think the black uniforms are out-of-sync with their style of play.

I have an avid Duck fan out here in California, and he feels the same way. I think the Ducks are now doomed against Wisconsin.

 

I still prefer the traditional colors and unis.

I think the uni's are awesome.

 

The force is not strong with this one. Someone make them stop.

 

It would not surprise me if some day they come out with real duck feathers glued on to the unis.

 

I pretty much hate all "new/combat" uniforms in college.

EXCEPT Oregon's. Why? They started it all, and everyone else is just copying them. Its not like their traditional unis were any good -- Green Bay colors with Donald Duck logo.

They are, frankly, marketing geniuses. Both of my boys want to go to UT or Oregon. Why? The uniforms. That is it.

I now look forward to the unveiling of their bowl uniforms the same way I used to look forward to Christmas. Cracks me up every time (highlighter socks/shoes last year were pretty good, since they had to wear white).

 

I like them. The intimidation factor of those should be worth a touchdown.

 

I'm a old school traditionalist...and I love them.

My 17 year old son just said that kid's at his high school are ordering the replica Oregon jersey's online just because they think the are so cool.

 

The unis are ridiculous. This is so tired.

Now, a bit of rant on the "haters gonna hate" comment.
I am so sick and tired of the victim mentality from those using the word "haters" and "hate" when someone disagrees with them. I have a right to my opinion and there is no intelligence in the statement that I am a "hater" bc my opinion differs from yours.

To me, using the term "haters" comes with a low IQ, just like "they disrespected me" - what hogwash that is. Use a larger vocabulary and realize that no one has to agree with your opinion. No hate is involved.

 

I like these FAR greater than when they go all neon or dayglo with 'em. I look forward to seeing them. I wish they did have feathers or something when they extended their arms out and fanned them.

I have no problem with Oregon doing this because they aren't classified as a traditional power. But it should be punishable by lethal injection if anyone dares to touch the Longhorn unis. Teams like Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, USC, and Notre Dame should never change theirs either.

 

I don't know...I kinda like the retro unis tOSU, Michigan, and Neutered Dame sport from time to time. Then again, they don't look like something out of an old James Caan movie either.

I actually like Oregon's "Darth Vader" look for the Rose Bowl, at least a lot better than the day-glo unis they wore a year ago.

 

I'm an old fart and love tradition. But, you know what? This is Oregon's tradition and I think it's great. I like the fact that I can turn on an Oregon game and be surprised at what they're wearing. Somehow, they just look faster!

Hook'em!!!

 

A&M is trying to change their image, I wonder what they could come up with to embrace the old traditions and yet look sleek, stylish and appealing to the younger generation.

Maybe some sort of stylized lightning-bolt hoe. This would make a good photoshop contest.
