Any numbers posted yet? How many people watched last night? I'd like to see how they compare to past games.

It wasn't so much a boycott as a distinct lack of giving a crap.

I watched the third quarter, then turned on the Daily Show.

Does it do me any good to boycott if I do not have a Nielsen box attached to my TV?

Low numbers, and the resulting backlash from TV would be the only thing that could prompt the BCS to change.

I kept watching on the edge of my seat in anticipation of LSU crossing midfield. Sure enough, I went to the bathroom during the one time that they did. Bummer. [IMG]

Looks like it drew a 13.8, almost as bad as OU's beatdown by USC which no one watched. That's low, but wish it was lower.

I don't think the low numbers surprised anyone.

Thanks HP. I had just seen that article and was going to link to it. No other team since 1936 Minnesota had been chosen as the mythical national champ without having won their conference till last night. What a crock. [IMG]

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

1 at my house... I am a college football junkie but I grilled dinner and checked HF while the game was on. The ratings do not surprise me since this was a rematch of a 6-3 game played earlier in the season.

I watched a little of the game -- enough to see that LSU suicked -- then switched over to Encore to enjoy Gabriel Byrne in Little Women.

But according to Paul Feinbaum's show, this is the matchup everyone wants to see, and it's between two of the best teams in BCS history! I think the media is conspiring to make the SEC not look like the center of the universe.

You mean there are TV's that don't get ESPN? I thought there is no such things as not having cable these days. I guess there are still people that have to go outside to move their antenna's around to get a signal for the 3 basic channels. Didn't know

texas taps is on the money...that is to say it was about advertising dollars...if game was on abc ...espn would have been a wasteland of pool and poker...this way they get top dollar as a major network...and free their major network for regular programming for people who werent going to watch game anyway...

And as a comparison, twice as many people watched the Denver Tebows beat Pittsburgh Sunday evening.

I know the NFL is more popular than college football, and I know that the Denver game was on a major network - but when twice as many people tune in, maybe there is something to this playoff idea?

    Between watching Apollo 18 (6/10) and C'boys & Aliens (6 / 10 also), I did see the only TD and knew I hadn't missed anything....saw 2 so-so films vs a less-than-so-so game. Movies win.
