I saw lanes opened up in the 3rd and 4th quarter. I also saw lanes opened up in the RRS during the game. Thats why I said its more of the same. I saw that a time or two all season long. I saw some decent passes and some passes that werent close, just like the early season. But we will see. I am confident that OU is better, but we have things to fix too. Just not as much to fix as you guys do.

Well geezer, its not just me. Many of your own fans feel the same.

As for what I saw in the bowl game, it was more of the same, but let me be specific for you. What I saw in the bowl game was pretty much what I saw all year long with your team. I agree we disagree on if we saw improvement. Perhaps the spring and fall will help your boys out. We will see.

As for the series record, the other poster has it correct. The horns lead. However, with Stoops vs Brown, there is no comparison.

Ga-gree with Slugga and others...Corso does have a keen eye for what's happening on field. But Gilbert chose to move on and I only wish him well. Horns QB's should thrive on experience they received and be ready to put up dynamite numbers this year.

    Hook'em!!! [IMG]

October is a long way away. If both teams arrive healthy, I like our chances to win again until I see that your boys can actually run block and complete passes downfield on a consistent basis. We are looking for one corner, but if our weakness is DBs, I dont think texas can exploit that right now.

All in all, Gilbert was pretty much a freshman with a new coach and new system. He would be a better passer than what you have now with Ash.

Saying Gilbert was mishandled at Texas is not going too far out on a limb, imo. But I think it was Mack and Davis that are responsible for that, and not really Harsin and Applewhite. Gilbert's fate was sealed when he and the offense were booed after the first series of last year. There was no way he was going to succeed here.

He'll play better at SMU being able to play without expectations.

I35, for texas to win in OCT against OU, there is going to have to be an offensive turnaround like none ever seen before. Your defense might be good but so will ours and we know that with or without Broyles, our offense is still much better than yours.

    Bruthaman,

I don't think your offense or defense will be as good as it was last Oct. Plus our QB's alone last october gave you easy 2 or 3 TD's to your defense. Ash had no idea of the speed of the game. He threw one pass that looked open and had no idea the OU CB could close that fast. You didn't see Ash throwing those kind of passes by the end of the year. Our defense pretty much did a good job outside of our true freshman CB who by the end of the season was playing like he was an all-big 12 candidate. Also Gideon blew a coverage for an easy TD which he was known to do from time to time and he won't be back. Our Offense will have more than 4 games under our belt from the last time we saw you with Harsin's offense.

I do think you have a better DC now but I may under-estimate what he will do in a short time. I just really don't see you guys being better next year in Oct as you were last oct and I see us 100% better on offense and we will have all 11 players on defense that can play. We won't have a weak link this season on defense.

After about the 3rd hit on Jones in the first quarter, ou's offense will be rendered impotent. 10 points could be all Texas needs.

Stoops might be an upgrade from Venables (he will still have mid-pack Big 12 defensive talent), but he is at best only the second best DC in the Big 12. Manny is heads and shoulders above all of the other DC's.

We will be more than a match for texas on offense and defense, even with our middle of the pack talent. Our defense will be improved and our offense will be more balanced. The texas offense got one touchdown last year against us in garbage time and our offense got 4 to include 3 in the second quarter. You will need huge improvements on offense and defense to turn this game around.

Corso does schtick...sometimes it's ******* funny, many times...not so much. There's no reason for anyone to get all butthurt over his comments, though.

We no doubt got worse. Be it due to injuries or whatever, we got worse. If we played at the end of the season, the game would have been closer.

We need to develop our WR corps now that Broyles is out because trying to do it on the fly was a failure. I think we have the talent in place to make that happen, but we will know more after spring.

On defense, I am pretty confident in the talent and feel even better now that little brother is back in the saddle. Simple and aggressive made us a pretty good defense when he was on campus before.

A closer game, but I still like our chances due to your offense being what it was.

    Bruth,

I don't think you can dismiss the fact that going into this year our offense is going to be building on the offense instead of implimenting it. Also Ash gets that benefit of knowing the offense going in plus he gets the snaps in the off-season to go into the season with that momentum. Not to mention our O-line is much more talented and adding Johnathan Gray is bigtime. Just having him as an outlet pass will take ton of pressure off of Ash to complete passes down field.

I don't see how you didn't see improvement throuhout the season with our offense. Our offense went from giving points away to playing smarter football. Case either made incredible passes or really messed up against Baylor which got us in a shootout. That was not this team and made or defense not as much of the game. OSU just had the best offense in the country last year and they forced us in a high pace game as well.

Well, I did say not that much better than OCT which means better, but not by alot. Perhaps a full off-season for Ash will get it going for you guys, but I like how our defense matches up with your offense in the running and passing game.

As for your defense, I am not so sure. Our passing game with dead after we lost Broyles. We have a good class coming in but we dont know if they are any good or not at this level. I do expect us to run the ball better though with some bigger backs in the fold.

We are like 8 or 9 months away and have tons of practices and games before that saturday game time. We will see how this all shakes out. If our WRs are able to get open and catch the ball, we will be a tough out for anyone. The running game will be there and we now have the BELLDOZER to help with our pathetic goaline offense.

Without even reading the link it's easy to get the impression that Corso is sitting in the rear-facing seats. WTF difference does it make, now, how well Corso thinks Gilbert was or wasn't coached at Texas? We have have a new, energetic staff, and Gilbert feels he'll get to shine at SMU.

Hey, Corso - deal with it!!!
