CC should have been fired after not winning with Cat.

With all due respect, was this last post sarcasm?

That cup is nice and all, but if you are playing ANY sport at UT, you should aspire to national championships. We are nowhere close with softball right now.

Losing to a 27-27 team on your home field when you are the #6 national seed is unacceptable. Sorry if you disagree.

C'mon DesertDog. Ease up on BIS. He's an optimist and good poster. All that being said, it is frustrating to see this team constantly underachieve in the post-season. No excuse for dropping this one. CC needs to be held accountable if they do not make it out of the regional.

BIS, this team could use some of your focusness mojo. Onward and upward 'Horns. [IMG]

I got no problem with BIS. I just wish the ladies had more mental focusness.
If Clark is going to be held accountable, she better be ready. It's going to take a near-miracle to win this regional now after losing your first game. Pitching will be thin having to play that many games -- not impossible, but extremely tough.

To add insult to UT's loss:
#4-Oklahoma 19-3 over Lehigh (at Norman)
    #8-Texas A&M 11-0 over Bethune-Cookman (at College Station)
Texas Tech 6-1 over Maryland (at SEATTLE
    )

Baylor lost 1-0 to Stanford (in Louisiana)

We are pushing almost 20 years of CClark. I'm not one for hard and fast rules but would the following really be that extreme?: If you have not won a National Championship after twenty years as a UT head coach , maybe you should be promoted to a desk job...with the usual Plonsky high salary and low-accountability.

15+ years - 4 WCWS appearances without even sniffing a NC (even though you had a world-class pitcher who has won Olympic gold). The time for a change is LONG overdue.

Based on Plonsky's long overdue replacement of the soccer coach and, for Plonsky, a quick replacement of the swimming coach, I surmise that Clark is on her way out unless the team pulls the miracle comeback and makes it to the championship tourney.

Clark's teams are the queens of disappointment. She should have been replaced years ago.

Softball is one sport in which Texas should have no trouble recruiting and winning with a competent coach.

CC's continued employment at UT is indefensible short of making the CWS this year.

well, Horns win and eliminate Auburn, 6-1. Northwestern beat Houston in the first game today and Horns will face off with the Cougars in about half an hour. Wonder who is pitching?

To get out of the regional, Texas needs to win three must-win games in the next 24 hours. I would start Bruins tonight with Luna as possible relief, and start Luna and Fox for tomorrow’s games if they can get to that point. Remember UH also played two games already; at this point every team is short of fresh arms. Texas is probably in a better position in term of pitching. The key to tonight game is that Texas scores early and often and takes pressure of Bruins.

gametracker is showing Texas as the winner over Houston, 10-1 after 5 innings. Texas will take on Northwestern tomorrow at noon, presumably with Fox starting. [IMG]

Viper..You are correct. My thought was it's pretty had to fire a coach off of what would be considered a good season(getting to CWS). Of course, if you look at past performance, it's a no-brainer. CC should have been canned years ago.
