4% of registered voters elect new US Senator

    I think Ted Cruz proved you don't need a ton of money to beat a candidate that has all the money in the world.

    You can't beat him because he has more money, that is the ole liberal line that we have been hearing since elections were created.....

    Ted Cruz proved that in an election with a very low turnout, the person who has a highly motivated group of followers can win

    He got the republican nomination and assures himself a seat in the Senate in the world's oldest democracy by garnering less than 10% of the registered voters.

    That the overwhelming majority of voters didn't turn out should be a source of concern.

    You do know for a Republican run off primary that it was the highest turnout in the history of the State of Texas, right?

    It was the Democrats that had one of the lowest turnouts.

    Yea, I would be concerned if I was a Democrat or liberal because as was mentioned ad nauseum in 2008 on this very board that Texas would be Blue by 2012.
