Marquise is in the lineup for the Men's Long Jump with the qualification round beginning at 1:50pm. He's the 13th jumper in line out of 21 in Group A. Don't know if it will be televised live but you can go toThe Link and watch it online if you have your online cable provider login and pw. If you don't, I highly recommend creating a quick one or using their 4 hour limited viewing pass.
In case this has not been posted somewhere... from Mack's twitter... video greetings Best Wishes from Mack !!
Both Group A, which he's in, and Group B are going simultaneously on different tracks and he's currently the overall leader for both groups with a 8.11m(26.6 ft.). He's not going for records here since it's just the qualification round for the final tomorrow. This is him right before he took off running. He was pumping the crowd up too and looked to be in great spirits.
He is in first as of 2:29 Texas time. Not sure if he gets to use the prelim. jump in the final standings though???
The Brazilian DaSilva is ahead of him only because his wind was -.9 and Marquise's was -1.0. They had the exact same distance though. Doesn't matter for today since he qualified for the final tomorrow. Also of note, Irving Saladino of Panama who won Gold in Beijing in the same event and has been basically the #1 guy in the world to beat had 3 toe-faults(over the line) in his jumps and is out.

Those who are in the DFW area, NBC 5 will be at the Texadelphia on Greenville Avenue with a watch party for Marquise. Come cheer on our Longhorn.
Around 1am this morning (guessing it was in prime time as well) NBC did a small piece on Marquise also playing football and had a quick quote from Mack about him. His was the only jump they showed of the qualifications.
This Olympic TV coverage is as fvcked up as a soup sandwich. None of the programming matches what is in the Direct TV "info" box. I subscribe to Comast/Xfinity, but when I click that link to the NBC Olympic site, it won't let me log on, but tries to get me to subscribe to Xfinity again. It's an outrage.
No idea how the format is or how many jumps each competitor gets, but after his first he is in 9th place with 2 still to try for their first. 7.8 metres. Leader is at 8.21m.
Yeah, I finally managed to break away during what ended up being the 4th set of jumps. I was wondering where Marquise was and finally realized that he did not make the last eight. son of a ...! I'm proud that he made it to the Olympics, but I have to imagine his frustration considering that his personal best of 8.33 m (2011 and 2012) would be first right now. Just his first jump from yesterday would be tied for 4th (i.e. allow him to have three more jumps). Anyway, I look forward to seeing him back in burnt orange this season. We need more guys with the heart he brings. Horns up for Marquise.

Very poor conditions in London. Winner had shortest winning jump in 40 years. Marquise will grow in next four years and should be a force in Rio in 2016 for the Red White and Blue. But now looking forward to him being a force in burnt orange this fall!
So very proud of you Marquise. I want to see you do your best Superman impersonation on the football field this year. A. Faster than a speeding bullet. B. More powerful than a locomotive. C. Able to leap nearly TEN YARDS IN A SINGLE BOUND! Sounds like a first down in one jump ( nearly) Remember your TD catch vs. OU in 2009 ? Here is a toast to some more in 2012.
