The latest pretty disturbing ad run by a pro BO super pac casts Romney as an uncaring man who caused the husband in the ad to lose his wife.
When facts come out, as they usually do and as CNN points out it is almost kind to call the ad a lie.
So is this fair game now? to run an ad that presents an opponent as someone uncaring about a loved one dying?

Dems would do well to remember what happened here in Texas with such ads

what I find disturbing is that anyone is so naive as to think this is something new or unusual. I am reading Caro's latest book on LBJ and reading what he and the Kennedys did to each other in the 1960 campaign is refreshing in its candor and as a reminder that this kind of dishonest stuff has been going on forever.

And will continue as long as we have elections.

The frightening thing to me is that some people can see clearly the ghastly stuff done by the people they dislike and be totally blind to what the other side does.

They all do it. All the time.

Some are slicker at it than others but they all do it.

    Because it works.

Vilifying Obama for this bs is fine so long as you acknowledge and remember that the whole stinking pot of politicians is the same.

None of them are worth the bones of single Marine whom they send off to die for nothing in some godforsaken hellhole in Viet Nam or the Middle East.

O and RM are two spoiled elitists who avoided military service in order to serve the greater good of their megalomaniacal fantasy futures.

Much of what you say is true.
does that make it ok now? is there a sense of entitlement to continue doing what has been done?
Why must that always be brought up?Why not HOPE things can CGANGE? especially after you promise to change things?

BO pledges a new era of openess and ethics.
NO it is Not BO who ran the ad
But has BO asked the ad be taken down?

That took a quick turn on the OP, anyway, I don't remember adds being so vicious this early in the Presidential election cycle or even that just plain untrue, not an ounce of that add has any validity.

You would think the parties would reel in their donors and supporters but instead, you have a carefully orchestrated chain of politicians throwing out smear tactics so the candidates can cry "Not Me". The independent voters are going to be sick of it come November (I hope).

    really?? REALLY?
You are trying to equate that ad to the ad I linked?

Dear Lord are you as desperate as the rest?

Did I miss the part in your ad where BO is accused of not caring that someone died?
What part of the ad you linked is a lie?

The day Romney or a superpac supporting Romney runs an ad attributing a death to BO that is factually a lie I will denounce it as well

But Good Lord people when did, " the way it has always been done' become the reason to continue anything?

This ad is about a woman DYING and laying the blame for the death on Romney and Bain. A complete lie

one of the advantages of living in Texas is we are spared much of that nonsense. If this stuff cluttered my TV night after night, I'd take up reading in a hurry.

did you not even go to CNN's link?
It lays out the facts in a pretty straighforward way

After you see the timeline and the fact that she HAD insurance for years afterward come back and explain again how you can blame Romney

I posted a thread weeks ago asking "when will Romney go on offense". As far as I'm concerned, he still hasn't. That link Michtex posted is a love-in compared to the Superpac attack of Romney. There obviously is no limit to how low BO will go to get reelected. Romney needs to remember that the future of the country is at stake here and take the gloves off.

Imo, Romney has some great GOP bona fides, moreso from the "normal" era of the 70's, though. He's had to warp himself to appeal to the far-right religious crowd and that's the real shame.

    But such is politics.

Not to even mention Romney was not at Bain at that time.

True, mild language. It's just depressing that we have allowed our nation to be run by the lowest common denominator of civility and tact.

West Maul is now a forum where you can boast your superior political intellect while simultaneously come off as a cranky 3rd grade name caller.

This is a sad sad story and it is disgusting that Dems are using it to malign Romney
How long do you continue to Blame someone after all ties have been severed?

The woman had health insurance at her own job for years after the man was laid off

Why would you think it was still Bain's/ romney's fault? why not blame the insruance she had
she sadly died 5 years after the plant closed.

    How do you blame Rain?

can you provide a link that shows the woman had no insurance at her job when the steel plant closed in 2001?
According to the CNN story she did have insurance when the plant closed so she was covered

How do you place ANY blame on Bain? Where is it you think they are at fault for something that happened 5 years and another insurance company later?

cute btw, not blaming Rain. I don't either but I may pray for Rain

    Romney is responsible.

    Look at the facts.
    1) Romney worked at Bain, disregard that the bankruptcy was after he left for the olympics. Technically it was under his watch despite not having being directly involved.
    2) This guy lost his healthcare when he lost his job, disregard that his wife worked elsewhere and had benefits outside of Bain's control
    3) She died, thus Romeny killed her.

    How could anyone argue this.

Under Obama's watch using the same logic, some 500,000+ jobs have been lost beyond what has been created or saved.

According to the CDC our mortality rate is 793.8 deaths per 100,000 population

    so quick calculation . . . 500,000 lost jobs. . .

dear God, Obama has killed 4,000 people in 4 years.

Big- Hate to pile on here, but your position on this thing is so bad that i am embarassed for you. It is because of outlooks like yours that these types of ads actually work.

Please dont try and spin out of this by saying "indirectly". That is a total cop out and actually makes you look dumber by doubling down on an indefensible position.
