Yeah, I'm not sure what all of that was about. I couldn't tell if he was cheering Marquise on or was legitimately upset with him over something. The bobblehead is mesmerizing.
The marine definitely was not cheering him on. It looked like Marquise was about to do some taunting or gesture toward the crowd and the marine went off.
it looked to me like he thought marquise was gonna do a lambeau leap but he wasn't gonna have it. I'm pretty sure marquise coulda faked him out & done it if he really wanted to.
I agree Vol the marine looked like he was taunting Marquise Marquise handled it perfectly he just looked at the dude and then moved on
Looks like he's just yellling "No!!!!!! No!!!!!!" Marquise just looks around like "WTF?" and walks away. Good for him.
But will the real Marine do that in the face of fake Army? Ma Parson's Cavalry or whoever those clowns are would probably **** their britches.
The marine looked like he was having fun and Marquise looked like he was letting him do it. Funny all around.
after that clip the marine did say something in the camera, i could not hear all of it but in the end he said, "USA #1."
the Marine appears to be an NCO, and at least in the Army you don't salute NCOs. An offended Army NCO might tell you "I'm not an officer, I work for a living". If Goodwin was getting ready to salute, that might prompt the 'nooooooooo'
I heard part of it on TV, and the marine was screaming about the USA being the best country in the world, and ended with Simper Fi! But I was unsure if he was trying to prevent any taunting gesture by Goodwin, or what his verbal outburst indicated. It was kind of humorous, maybe it was good-natured (?), or maybe the guy forgot to take his medication (?).
Check out the reaction from the police dude in the blue (?) Smokey the Bear hat behind the Marine and event staff guy w blue polo and khaki slacks. Both end up smiling and talking to each other by the end of this clip. Also, looking at Marquis's right arm, I can imagine him starting to salute the Marine until the Marine starts bobble heading. Agree MG handled it pretty well. m/
Maybe we should have sent our Green Beret Delta Force deep snapper over there to kick his ***. - Mike
That's how Marine NCOs let you know you're a badass. Those theatrics are exactly what you see at Basic and OCS. If he was jawing with Goodwin, it was all in good fun. The Marine was on the Texas sideline shaking hands with everyone the whole game. He even saluted and rubbed elbows with Colonel Gadson, honorary Texas Captain, before the game. Semper Fi!
Looks like Marquise was about to salute him. Regardless of rank, civilians don't salute military personnel. My dad was a marine, so I had a military ID while at U.T. Would go to Bergstrom every once in a while for cheap groceries. They expect the civilian cars to wave, not salute.
