I spend a lot of time on this time defending Obama from ill-founded and illogical attack, but it's not out of any passionate sense of loyalty to the man.

The slow acknowledgement that the attack in Libya was well-organized terrorism, not a response to an offensive video is one example of failing to step to the mike, be couragous and take a stand. I think the video was stupid, offensive and will cost us lives and given impetus to the embassy attacks around the middle east. But in Libya it simply provided cover for a well-organized armed group that had done intelligence before the event may have used it as cover for an attack it planned anyway. Armed enemies doing us harm has happened on virtually every presidential watch and trying to spin away from accountability certainly is not building my confidence in Obama.

On the economy, Obama has shown he's no Clinton. Clinton more creatively and energetically attacked stupid economic regulation than any president in modern history. We need that kind of energy making government smart and accountable. We don't need anti-business zealots in regulatory agencies -- just like we don't need pro-business zealots selling out the public interest to private companies.
Man I wishI could find a candidate that I could get excited about.

Racking up 6 trillion in debt should disqualify any president from a 2nd term. The fact that obama leads in the polls is an indictment of the pathetic financial education of the average US voter.

If you lived on an Indian reservation you would wonder why anybody would dislike the man. He's done more construction of schools and clinics there than Castro has on all of Cuba. All part of the stimulus. Most white people didn't notice, but there is a good reason why New Mexico aint in play this year.

AS for Clinton, he can stick a cigar up his ***; he's the reason we got W. If he had manned up and resigned, Gore would have been president for a year and would have torn W's ears off instead of losing by a 5-4 vote.

Oh great. A link to an intentionally obtuse Factcheck article. Thanks, I had not read one in a while since the one "fact-checking" the claim that the US has lost international respect under Obama. Of course, that was a month before our Libyan ambassador was massacred. They really nailed it!

Need an irony hearing aid UTChe96? You are suffering from profound deafness. Please ramp up the hypoerbole, the choir needs another opportunity to shout "AMEN!"

I don't think I need an "irony hearing aid". Did you ever consider that you are just not as gifted a writer as you think you are? By the way, you may want to look up hyperbolic. I would expect even a mediocre writer like yourself to use it more appropriately.

lol UTChE, notwithstanding my poor writing skills (I have studied your posts trying to improve, please bear with me) Dude, the irony is in your response. My post was not ironic. Unintended irony, get it? By you, get it? I didn't think so. As for my use of "hyperbolic," perhaps you should remove the mote from thine own eye. You shouldconsidering hiring a mediocre writer to tutor you on basic literary devices. Jesus, dude, get a clue before you try to criticize other people's writing ability.

The only hyperbole in my posts was calling you a mediocre writer. Oh look, there is some irony for you too.

By the way, good use of lol. Maybe there is hope for you yet.

Whitman Sampler's use of the word "hyperbolic" was absolutely correct, UTche96.

You can make your argument, that has some of merit, without stating that everyone that disagrees with you is somehow "pathetic."

Yea, unless you are among the "true believers" of the right wing saying "Obama is the worst president ever," that he's a Muslim, that he is somehow solely responsible for the poliitical impasse in Washington just doesn't seem persuasive. When the arguements against Obama are 100 percent what advertising folks call "puffery" then you become tiresome to people really interested in deeper understanding.
