You can line up any number of cupcake games to pad your record and none of them matter.

OU matters. I'd rather go 1 and 11 and beat OU than 11 and 1 and lose to OU.

I realize OU is a strong program and we are not going to beat them every year. But goddamnit, I expect us to fight and compete with them til the clock hits 0:00 every ******* year. If you can't do this, your most basic fundamental task, get the flying f**k out of here.

Then Stoops would be fired for losing to a team that lost 11 times.

Mack Brown is our John Cooper. Not only does MB play scared against OU like Cooper did against Michigan, he gets blown out. Also like Cooper, MB has lost key games over the years that would have led to conference titles. Time for MB to bow out graciously

Is Mack Brown to UT what Nero was to Rome? Does Mack have a fiddle?

I have long contended that we have had three stand alone seasons: 1. the ags, 2. ou, 3. everybody else.

Any coach who does not consistently win each of those stand alone seasons is not doing the job Texas expects of them. Mack is failing one of them in grand style.

Red McCombs said yesterday that Mack has his support. We haven't heard from Jamail, who is probably the clincher. I would suspect that the high rollers (somehow more important than fans like me who have been around 50+ years and spent my own small fortune on Texas football) are giving Mack another - one more - year. Just enough time for him to jerk all of our chains back into the incompetent sphere of his imagination of success.

One year, one season, one day -- I am personally through with him.

I came over for this week one day early, so we could see the game. I've never seen anything so poor in my life. We left before half when it was 36-2. Mack is never ready for ou, the only big game of the year. He needs to step down. I didn't think I'd make the trip to Austin for Baylor, after the ou game, but I haven't totally given up on it yet, but it's probably a waste of time and money.

The UCLA game in Austin was worse. OU's 77 pointer against the Ags was worse, if you are an ag. Lots of bad massacres around. I saw a high school game, 48 minutes, whre the final was 84-0.

But this one was pretty horrible.

We shouldn't have let David McWilliams go, he was 3-2 over ou winning the last 3

McWilliams was screwed in an era where Jackie S was openly cheating at ATM and Switzer was openly cheating at OU...not to mention how Hart Lee Dykes ended up at Okie State and even the private schools were buying players. He was trying to compete by selling tradition and education to parents when Ags and Okies were buying cars for them.

McWilliams actually did more with less than people give him credit for.

That is one of the most Aggie comments I've ever heard. I would take years like 2004 (11-1 with a 12-0 loss to OU) than ever go 1-11 but our win was OU.

Seriously, this is almost the most idiotic thing I've ever read on this message board

I think he was making an exaggerated point that Mack treats OU like any other game and it's not. It's not that we lost. It's that we didn't even show. I won't spend much time the rest of the year on the horns. Doubt I'll watch a complete game because no matter what this team does from here on out, they got the biggest *** kick since route 66 and the 2nd biggest *** kick ever. I know the score wasn't, but this was worse then any other game sans UCLA I've seen and I've watched Horn football for 40+ years. Because there wasn't a lot of defensive TDs. It was simple ram it down our throats like we were a 2 bit *****. This team can't do anything to make that go away this year. The year is trashed. Over, done with. I'll be fishing on Saturday. My blood pressure will be better, my attitude better, and my dinner will be better.

Texas Tapps may be the only fan left to cheer them on. And he just does it to be obnoxious. Mack is selfish. He talks a good game but when you get right down to it, he's selfish.

Spot on, wadster. We have to be at least competitive with OU every year. Even in the disastrous 2010 with turnover god Garret Gilbert we lost by 8 points.

3 **** years in a row. Mack is no longer a coach; he's just another overrated overpaid high level muckety muck. Oh he can schmooze. And I'm sure he was all over the big boosters selling his *** off to keep his job. But those skills belong in the boardroom, not in the cotton bowl.

Yeah no kidding. He has no Aggie rivalry win to fall back on if he loses to OU. The other teams in the Big12 Texas is SUPPOSE to beat and beat your chief rivals should be on top of your list but look at Baylor this weekend looking for a 3rd straight victory over Texas. Is Baylor going to be Texas biggest instate rival now?? I mean we need a chief instate rival now that aggie is gone. lmao I sure hope Mack has this team's head on straight because if we lose this weekend you can stick a fork in this season because it is DONE. I tuned in the LHN last night to catch a little of the MB show with Craig Way. He started talking about cancer patients and dying and how other things are more important. Craig just sat there. He honestly really didnt know what to say. He had that "you gotta be shittin me" look on his face. Pretty shallow of MB to start comparing cancer patients to a football game. He sounded desperate. I think he has lost it. I listened a few minutes and turned it to the Cosby show. Lets just cut bait go on. Never has a coach done so little with so much. 1 NC and 2 CC's. Pathetic!!!!!

agssuk - Craig Way characterized the Mack Brown Presser that aired last night as one of Mack's top 2 Pressers of all time on The Zone's Sports Buffet preceding the 7pm airing of the Press Conference.

I think everyone should settle down. Who is a better choice to lead the team? Who do you want? Really?

Complaining that Mack has only brought us 1 NC?

And if you all think throwing expletives in your comments help drive your points your wrong.

Well, to me he sounded desperate. If he worked as hard on fundamentals of the game as he does on excuses, we would be unbeatable. As far as who else would lead us???? I'm sure there would be no shortage of candidates. There has to be someone out there to instill toughness in this team. He often quotes DKR. What does he say about what kind of men it takes to win football games?

We will go 4-1 down the stretch. Play in a decent bowl game. With 2 losses to top notch programs. Not bad for a sophomore QB and 9 seniors on the depth chart.

This year will be looked back on as the next step towards our goals.

Its next year that a blowout (by OU or anyone) might have real consequences.

"Yep, this is so hard to understand"

Apparently he felt the need to explain that to us. [IMG]

Mack has done alot of good things for this University. No one would deny that. But just because he won a NC does not give him a free pass. How many on this board think that with the talent in this state and his resources, that we should not be in the mix every year. I know that wont happen. Everyone has down years, but not being competitiev and just plain getting an *** whippin from your chief rival should never happen, let alone give up 60+ points 3-4 times. We looked like a Jr High team out there. And that "tackle" that Phillips "attempted", where he didnt hit him hard enough to even knock him off stride??? I dont know whether to LOL or break down in tears. [IMG]

If you had actually watched the segment, it was about this week as our annual dedication game...for players to dedicate the game to someone that they know or have lost to cancer. Players will indicate this will a colored ribbon on their helmet. Although admirable...it had a "football doesn't really matter" tone to it and, as much as that's so totally correct, it's just the opposite of what anyone wants to hear right now.
