UT just has nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing Aggy in the near future. Wait until there is a good reason to play them again.

I would love for UT to beat KSU and go 11-2. The only downside would be the possibility that it might put Alabama back into the championship game if ND or UO lose one of their final games.

I agree w/ NB they had their shot, we had ours for years.

I personally think Florida is a much more interesting match up for obvious reasons.

If a KSU loss means ND or Bama back in the MNC game, and the KSU game not really affecting our bowl situation. Is it ok to be ok with a loss?

It is not OK to be OK with a loss to KSU even if the Horns beat TCU, which is not a given, and win a bowl game. A 10 win season should not be a standard - it means the standard is to lose three games each year.

Who gives a rip if NC or Alabama wins the NC? Texas needs wins against top 20 teams, something which abysmally has been missing for two years except for the win over an overrated and marginal Texas Tech team.

Aggie is like the guy who asks for a divorce but still wants to go by his ex's house for dinner and sex.

They bolt then claim they never said they do not want to play us

Aggie is going to be in a BCS game now so only way to play them is to beat KSU and have OSU beats OU. Even then not sure we can make a BCS game. Sure wish we had called time out instead of Espinosa snapping that ball against WVU.

Speaking of Espinosa, he's doing a great job of getting out and blocking on the edge. He struggles some on straight up blocks, but he's quick and doing a fantastic job on the edge.

This thread is a prime example of why A&M was ready to leave the Big XII. Texas thought/thinks they can dictate the terms of A&M but threatening not to play A&M. The whole notion of Deloss trying to get the CB to take somebody besides A&M just speaks to the level of arrogance we were happy to leave behind.

It took A&M less than a full season to become more relevant than Texas

Nobody outside of Austin is going to believe that Texas ducking A&M in a bowl game is anything other than being completely chickenshit.

The stink of your post shows why the Big 12 was elated to see "ewe" gone.

JM you are right, no matter what caused A&M to bolt, I am cool with it.
I can only speak for myself, but my hopes if never, ever playing the Ags again has nothing to do with fear. It's more of , dude just go away.
You will see, it won't take long for your SEC mates, LSU and Bama, to grow weary if the hate spewed from most Agie fans.

Aggy wanted to be out from under the foot of Texas, now they are, don't want to see them on our schedule or in a bowl game against us ever again.

I'm seriously wondering why anyone cares to respond to aggy trolls. They've got what makes them happy, membership in the SEC! SEC! SEC! You'd think that would be validation enough for them without some of 'em coming back over here to gloat about their new relevance.

I'm happy for aggy that they've found their new identity in the confederacy, and happier still that they're no longer joined at the hip to us. Why they would even bother coming to this site I don't understand...UT is NOT in the SEC and UT is NOT playing agricultural in the next lifetime or two...they might as well be posting on the Boston College site, or maybe Fresno State's site.

This rant is NOT directed toward Prop Joe and the other two or three rational ag posters...they're always welcome. The toy soldier segment however needs to find a blog site more in line with their intellectual level.

Although I agree that a 10-3 season is a good season, it should be among the worst we have here at Texas, not the highlight of a 3 year span. 4-7 to 8-5 to 10-3 is actually a rather slow climb back up for the kind of program we compare ourselves to. 22-15 over 3 years would get many top 25 coaches canned. I'm glad we're winning, but I agree with many others on this board that we can't get too amped up post beating Baylor, Kansas, Tech and ISU. We should beat those teams. I can't recall a TX-OU game that was complete domination like the one we saw this year. I know we had other outcomes similar to this in the early 2000's, but the game this year was worse. It was like freshman team against varsity in high school. I think we are making improvements, but I don't know if we've played a team since OU that proves it. I don't want to downplay a 4 game win streak and some conference road wins, but I think KSU and our bowl game opponent will show where this program actually is.

i dont think there's any possibility for A&M to be in the cotton bowl this year, especially not after the bama win.

the SEC will get at least two into the BCS. from there it becomes about who gets first "dibs" on a team...and the capital one bowl picks before the cotton bowl. i think at this point A&M is either headed to the fiesta or capital one.

I suspect (but am not certain) that "exciting star player factor" gets us picked over most other SEC teams if the bowl has a choice. A&M is likely only going to a BCS game if 1-loss Florida loses to Florida State though.
