Beth Prince, Class of 2015, is the Freshman of the Year according to ESPNHS. Note her pic in the following website. The Link She does list Texas as the front runner on her wish list!!
N.Dalton from Colorado is the Player of the Year for MaxPrep Volleyball. Can't to see her next year at Texas. We placed 3 recruits on the Max All-America Team. M.McCage and A.Neal Hookem'
Who is 6'6? ESPN article lists Prince at 6'3, but maybe I missed something, or are you referring to someone else?

I missed that reference. Every other source, or those I've seen, has her at 6'3. But I like 6'6 better!
In 2013, we lose Sha'Dare McNeal (Utility) and gain: #6 - 6'2 Chiaka Ogdobu (MB/Opp) #10 - 5'8 Chloe Collins (Setter) In 2014, we lose Bailey Webster (OH), Hannah Allison (S), Sarah Palmer (Lib), and walk-on Megan Futch (DS). So far, only 5'7 Cat McCoy (Libero) has committed for 2014. Anyone know who else Texas is gunning after? I really hope the staff focuses on recruiting another 6 rotation pin hitter with great ball control skills!
We also got a commitment from Micaya White for 2015. The Link She's a 6' (MB/OH) from Frisco, Texas Club profile Highlights: The Link
This article from 2011 indicates Texas has offered Beth Prince a scholarship; so, the interest appears to be reciprocal. The Link
I'm curious to see who land for the 2014 class, as well. Penn State already has 5 or 6 highly-regarded commitments. With Ashley Bannister not returning to the program, we seems to need another OH for depth, especially when Bailey graduates. Or, perhaps Chiaka or Khak Bell could be the heir apparent to fill Webster's shoes.
2013 UT commits in action on Tuesday. 5'7 Setter, Chloe Collins leads Cypress Woods to this weekend's Regional semi's; 5 blocks for someone her height is pretty impressive: The Link 6'2 MB/OH Chiaka Ogbogu helps defending 5A champ, Coppell, to this weekend's regional semi's: The Link
2015 OH Micaya White leads Frisco Centennial to this weekend's regional semi's: The Link 2014 Libero, Cat McCoy of Southlake Carroll also advanced to this weekend's regional semi's
Chiaka Ogbogu's Coppell team wins Friday, and one win away on Saturday from advancing to the state tourney in Garland. Chloe Collins season/career ends with a loss to Clear Falls in 5 sets. Micaya White's Frisco Centennial and Cat McCoy's Southlake Carroll's squads also fail to advance on Friday night.
There were a handful of recruits and commits at the volleyball games this past weekend including Beth Prince. From other boards, Texas got a verbal this weekend from a 6'3 Croatian Junior National team player, Mirta Baselovic, for 2013. So the incoming freshman class will be: Chloe Collins, Chiaka Ogbogu, and Mirta Baselovic. Texas is loaded at MB with Khat, Molly, Sarah H, and Madelyn. Both Mirta and Chiaka are both listed as MBs as well. I really hope Khat is kept at MB b/c she is just so explosive at that position. I'm sure the staff is expecting some attrition after the semester if they are going to be taking in 3 recruits this year, 2 being MBs. I think the writing is on the wall for Madelyn. She is just too slow for this dynamic Texas offense. I'm thinking Sarah Hattis will stick it out for one more year though.
texasdpt: Help me to understand this as I have only been following volleyball the last few years. But I have noticed how players on the team one year will be gone the next and not by graduation. We have one senior this year, but are signing 3 recruits. Does that mean we thin the herd to make room. Do we not develope players currently on the roster? Or do we sign, what we think might be better and release players signed in the past. This seems very unfair.
Having followed Texas volleyball in the Jerritt Elliot era, my understanding is this: he signs some of the best talent in the country and lets each commit know that they will have the opportunity to be a starter regardless of seniority based on how they are performing in practice and in games. I think that's one reason he attempts to run the 6-2 system each year in the beginning of the season to get more players involved. In any case, he lets talent and consistency overrule seniority and that's why we see a couple of underclassmen play over upperclassmen. I think when a player knows she can't beat out the 2 players ahead of her, transfers occur. It seems the ones that do transfer are starters at their new school (Haley Cameron at Santa Clara, Elizabeth Graham at Baylor, and Cristina Arenas at Alabama to name a few). Others decide to stay and finish their careers at Texas even though they see zero playing time by their senior year.
We have 1 schollie available this year due to Bannister leaving the team because she can't play anymore. About the other 2 schollies-Coach Elliott addressed this a couple of games ago but frankly he lost me. It was something like we have 2 people who are graduating early so that opens up 2 schollies. Maybe somebody else will remember it better.
Bailey officially graduated this semester and Sha'Dare should be in the spring. With Ashley Bannister giving up volleyball, that opens up 3 volleyball scholarships for the incoming freshmen. Bailey is a red-shirt junior athletically and will be starting graduate school courses in the spring. I'm thinking she will probably be receiving a graduate school scholarship instead of an athletic one for next year.
Has Bailey said for sure she'd come back? I sure hope so. Would set us up to win two championships in a row.
I get so damned confused Baily Haley urg,,, number 1 or is it 10 or 23 or 34 ahhhhh urrrrgggggg GO HORNS!!!!!
