I'm not sure why he is coming out now since his confession just opened up a lot of legal ramifications against him. I am sure their are a lot of half truths in there starting with he used them before he had cancer. lol Link
people used to confess to priests, now they confess to Oprah or one of the other tv septic tanks. and could someone explain why anybody besides professional bike riders should care?
ill bet the folks that settled defamation suits and the ones that had to defend them over the years might care.
I would certainly want any money back that I had spent fighting his lawsuits or settlement reached. I can see this costing him a good chunk of money.
There was a magazine, forget which one, that settled with him for accusing him of doping. They are going to want their money back for sure. The article they write now will make the other look like the nicest thing ever. However, the Tour made **** tons of money from Lance as did tv networks and such. Are they going to give that money back?
Did y'all take that to mean he only used them before he had cancer? That's the biggest load of **** I've ever heard...a half confession that goes against a mountain of evidence is not going to cut it. He's still trying to fool everyone. Maybe he admitted that in addition to doping during the tour wins? Otherwise, he confessed nothing.
I think a late, half-hearted confession is more admirable than an adamant, completely implausible, denial. I think he has improved his standing from fresh crap to dried crap.
Is LA going to apologize to the former female employee he basically called a *****? Is he going to apologize to Greg LeMond?
One of the only things worse than a liar is a liar who's willing to vilify, abuse and destroy people who call him out on his lie.
I was wondering about the whole “confessing to Oprah” thing, and this had to be a very carefully calculated move on LA’s part. He could have done a press conference or something I guess, but I think Oprah is — or appears to be — a more sympathetic (?) platform for a high profile mea culpa. Whether you like Oprah or not, was this a wise move on his part? I mean, if you are going to come clean publicly, was this the best venue for it? I think maybe it was.
From what I have heard and read he managed to display what an arrogant asshat he is. People are not buying his remorse, they see it as calculated and now see what they think is the real Lance, a prick. He came off smug and cocky almost but not sincere. Good job, douche bag. Now the rest of the country can see what most here in Austin know already and that is that Lance loves him some Lance at any cost with no regard to others. I hope Livestrong, without his influence or input, continues to thrive and help people. I know one or two (as many others do too I am sure and btw F Cancer) who have benefited from the foundation so I hope it continues.
Plus: Livestrong. Minus: Doping and lying. Balance the good LA has affected through Livestrong against the doping scandal. Net plus or minus on the “good scale”?
