He and Pat Hegarty are best TE's I have seen wear Longhorn uni's. Bo Scaife is close third.

His National Championship and two Super Bowl Champions rings should bring him comfort! He was great! [IMG]

Vince gets the credit for the National Championship, and rightfully so, but I submit to you that we would not have won that game had it not been for David Thomas' 10 catches, several of which were behind the first down marker. He fought for first downs repeatedly during the fourth-quarter comeback.

I wish him the best. I hope another team picks him up, but if his football career is over, he has the comfort of knowing he performed at the highest levels and received the just rewards for his hard work.

David Thomas was clutch and I agree with Texanne, we wouldn't have won that game without his clutch catches.

    Texanne,

Yep, David was a HUGE part of that MNC. He made great catches the whole game. His catches late in the game made it possible for the team to score those last two TDs.

David was always a classy young man. Whether he plays any more in the NFL, I hope he has made enough these last seven years (and saved and invested wisely), so that he now doesn't need to worry about finances for the rest of his life.

saw a special on him and his young family a couple of years ago...always seemed like the best guy...

without a doubt my favorite person from 2005...yes, including Vince....I just thought his clutch play won us the National Championship...(along with many)

    BEST OF LUCK, David!!! [IMG]

Watch the game again, and count how may times he spun for extra yards.

[IMG] David Thomas is my ALL-TIME favorite Longhorn and football player EVER!! Met him at the UT Women's Conference in 2004. Such a wonderful man and athlete, and very attractive, too!! [IMG] I wish him the best of luck!!! [IMG]

He was so important to us and proved that without a strong and versatile TE we are nowhere near as effective or successful. We have been spoiled having the likes of him, Scaife and Finley. Injuries kept another off the field.

I too wish him the best and hope that if he is staying in the league he goes to a team that is able to make use of his talents.

Thank You David Thomas for representing so well!

Being a suffering Dallas Cowboy fan I would hope you might finish there along side another great TE Jason Witten. We need whatever help we could get.

To me, David's biggest contribution during the MNC game was not a catch. His breakup of a sure pic by Vince (bad pass that should have never been thrown) late in the 4th kept the dream alive. The rest is history. Thanks #16. [IMG]

One of those players that could have started at a number of positions. Great Longhorn!
