Well Abe was in a coffin when he said that and things such as that was why Dodds who didn't find any of those kind of things Abe did funny finished poor Abe off a few years later. Well your understanding is totally wrong there was never any accusation of recruiting violations by Lemons by Texas according to Dodds himself. I was in the Broadcast Journalism lab at UT when the story came down from AP. Now Lemons later filed a law suit against Dodds for allegedly saying he did fire him for violations at a meeting of Texas Exes in Fort Worth. The Link Dodds says he never made such a statement and the suit was later dismissed. So either there was no violations or Dodds committed purgery. It was well known that Dodds and others didn't like Abe's antics and when Wacker got hurt and the team went to pieces it gave him a chance to fire him.
