Jerk Bohls: here he goes again

    HP and Section,

I have personal knowledge of a lot of things you do not know. If you want Kirk to be a homer, he is not. But, he reports the truth. Mack is a good guy, but when he screws up, Kirk will call him on it. That is a good reporter. Not a homer.

Rogee-dodgee, it seems that both you and bohls have "inside information" that us peasants do not. Wow.
I am impressed with what you know that is a secret. Sounds like bohls might be an impressive, morally
upstanding, totally honest, literary giant. I'm sorry to have thought he was a petulant little crybaby. Thanks
for straightening out the misguided who have opinions based on years and years of actual observation,
    rather than "inside information".

    Section,

Thanks for the cute nickname. Your theory about Bohls breaking a covenant is a bunch of bologna (and that is being nice). I guess you want a sunshine pumping homer that says everything to fit through your burnt orange tinted glasses. That's ok, but just admit it. No reason to call a guy a whiner when you have no idea about his relationship with the UT Athletic Department.

aTm plays 8 games at home and only has three "lose-able" games on its schedule: Ole Miss, LSU and Bama. They will be a touchdown favorite over Ole Miss and a pick-em against an LSU team that lost about 15 starters to the NFL/graduation, and a pick-em against a Bama team that they beat on the road last year.

They have an outstanding coach, the returning Heisman winner at QB, and one of the best O-Lines in football.

And, again, they only play 3 teams with a pulse.

Until someone beats them, Bama is the obvious pick. However, that is also a boring pick. Of the other available options, aTm is as likely as any. Indeed, as the last team to beat Bama, they are probably more likely than any.

People like to rip Bohls, but it is an obviously defensible pick.

I have no desire to have any back and forth with you R-D, so this will be it for me.
Mack asked every reporter that was covering practices to NOT publish/announce
any injuries before the team could inform the parents. Bohls decided that he didn't
have to honor that and he didn't, thereby cutting his umbilical to the team. But of
course YOU know everything and YOU are an insider, so whatever you think is
    gospel.
One more thing. Bohls has taken so many cheap shots at Mack the past several
years that no man would think it was okay. So every so often bohls bemoans his
lack of access, totally ignoring the insults he has thrown at Belmont.

i dont think we'll be favored going into that game.

    S3,

Never said I know everything, but I do know for a fact a lot of what you said is just outright not true. Plain and Simple.

I take what every journalist says, or writes with a grain of salt. Many of them - especially columnists - are arrogant, extremely opinionated and out to stir readers up with sensationalized content - or at the very least, the delivery of it.

I do find it somewhat humorous when someone claims to have not read a journalist's work in years and in the same breath argue what a terrible writer he is.

Well, I said that I was not going to prolong this gibberish, but after seeing, over and over, that
Rogee-Dogee keeps professing that he "knows things that us peasants do not know" it may
be time to call his bluff (Actually HPslugga already did).
So RD, if you are soooooo knowledgeable, tell us what it is that you know....... or just admit
that you are throwing out crap and then hiding behind your double-secret decoding ring of
a secret society of insider...... (fill in the blank).

    We are waiting.

To address the discussion on A&M's schedule: We don't know how many "losable" games A&M has. Two years ago A&M could have easily been 11-1 in the regular season - we lead in the second half of every game we played except against OU. But we weren't.

Last year the thought was A&M was going to be dominated by powerful Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, and Alabama teams. Missouri was considered a probable loss for A&M. But we weren't.

This next year we don't know. Alabama and LSU are obviously very good teams. Baton Rouge at night is a very tough place to play. But Miss State will be good. Auburn has lots of talent and a new coach. Arkansas has some good offensive talent & a new coach. Missouri will be healthy. Vanderbilt is a top 25 team. Any of those teams could be good enough to beat A&M.

So, again, its possible that A&M will win the MNC. But I don't think that it will happen. And I don't think Bohls thinks it will happen either. I think he's looking for website clicks so advertisers will pay his salary.

    Just my 2 cents.

I was one of the few who thought A&M would have success in the SEC last year, having started a thread about why they would beat LSU (I was wrong) and chimed in on several predicting they'd beat Alabama. Why? Because the notion that a good Big 12 team can't compete in the SEC is (and is now proven to be) BS.

Saying that Vandy, Auburn and / or Missouri are loseable games is really just saying that anything can happen on any given Saturday. Sure, it could happen but it shouldn't. This is the one year where you all should have sky high expectations and with the schedule anything more than 2 losses I'd think would be an utter disappointment.

LSU just has talent and speed year in and year out. i also think that chavis called a damn good game against us last year, and was aided by a few key turnovers too. we very well could win that game, but i just have a hard time thinking that a night game in baton rouge would be anything but a pick'em.

we should have won that game last year. it was right there for us to have but we brainfarted in our redzone play calling late in the game. thinking about it makes my blood pressure rise.

I'm wondering why anyone would pay for an online subscription to read garbage printed on the AAS. The newspaper must be doing poorly and on the verge of bankruptcy if they're resorting to this method of making a buck. Sounds like an American Airlines-like scheme. It's sad that I can't read the hometown newspaper of my Horns to get the latest coverage.

I never said I knew everything, but Section 3 is off on this one. I do know Kirk (and have for awhile) and he is not a whiner like S3 asserts. I have known him to be well ahead of stories in the past and to usually be right. Knew about the Tom Penders story long before it broke. Kirk is not the homer that you guys want him to be.

Rogee-dogee, you must have NEVER read his articles, if you say he doesn't whine. The little jerk
whines CONSTANTLY. Always whining about not getting access, not getting extensive interviews. etc.
If you profess to know him (intimately?) then you are blind, but then perhaps great, uh,' buddies', accept that.
But............ rogee, buddie, you STILL haven't told us about your absolute, hyper-secret inside knowledge
that refutes what a majority of this thread has said about your, uh, "buddy".
Are you going to tell us, or just keep slobbering all over bohls? Best guess here is that you will keep
    tap dancing.

    S3,

No point in going further. I have read most of what Kirk writes. You obviously want a homer who says everything that will fit through your burnt orange lens.. You have Ketch and Chip Brown to keep you and the other sunshine pumpers happy.

Are you mad that Kirk picked A&M to win the NC?

Why should Bohls ever expect a favor from Mack or Deloss. He did not vote Vince or Colt for the Heisman, which was an in your face insult to the Longhorn nation. Looks like some perks were taken away that came with the job. This is great news as it gives Mack more time with the team. [IMG]

To me he is , haven't read him in years, so was, an anti-homer. That is just as bad and probably worse than being a homer. Voting for Vince and Colt would have been legit. He likely didn't vote for them because of his fear of being labeled a homer. For that alone he can go f**k himself. Just my opinion.

"dodger" is a very appropriate name for our new kirk-sucker. When asked to give examples of his
self-touted inside information/knowledge, he dodges, shifting to questions about bohls picking the aggroids.
Mister Dodger, we are STILL waiting. Will you continue to dodge?

I don't care where he comes down on loving or hating Mack Brown, or if he has a sad over getting put at the children's table by Mack (or if that even happened). I just don't see the quality of journalism I would expect from the predominant newspaper in the state's capital city. There are certainly better writers with more interesting takes out there, but Bohls seems to have the slot at the AAS locked down. Whatever.

It's kind of been addressed in this thread already, but another view of the "Bohls problem".

Local/regional newspapers have sections. News. National. State. Local. Sports. Family and Home. Ads.

You want news, you go to a news section. You want sports, you go to Sports.

IMHO sports writers are not supposed to be journalists in the traditional sense. They are not supposed to be gumshoe detectives with spiral-bound note pads interviewing "Louie the Rat" in a dark alley to ferret out some nefarious goings on.

They are supposed to report on local and regional favorite team goings on. Winning, losing, stats, recruiting, trades, etc. And, yes, with a local/regional favoritism.

Certainly, sports reporting by a sports beat writer shouldn't be done to try to impress readers (mostly those OUTSIDE of the local/regional audience) by being antagonistic towards local/regional favorites to demonstrate "how balanced and fair" they are.

They're not SUPPOSED to be balanced and fair.

I go to the News section to read objective, unbiased reporting on various news issues of the day.

I go to the Sports section to read about my teams; yeah, with a little positive slant. Not to be regularly angered because the sports writer is trying to show us how "unbiased" and "smart" he is to readers outside of the area.
