Deferred Compensation is correct. NCAA has that covered.

I truly believe there is ZERO chance Manziel will be found guilty and suspended for any games by the NCAA before the Bama rematch. There is just no way they will tank that game as it's the one the entire country is waiting to see and a big attention grabber for their cash cow sport. And I seem to recall a certain BCS game a few years back not being tarnished so the matchup's national appeal wouldn't suffer.

I'd be completely shocked if Manziel sat out the most anticipated game of year to date. Defending national champs vs. new kids on the block who ruined perfect season with their Heisman winner...losing on Bama turf. No way that one gets jeopardized by NCAA clowns. They could easily drag it out til after and say it took a long time...game is only 6 weeks or so away.

Oh and if Aggy beat Bama, I wouldn't be shocked if NCAA buried it until Aggy lost. What more would they love then a new contender in the mix. It's all cash nowadays. Johnny couldn't resist it, NCAA can't either.

Pure speculation: The Manziel's don't want JFF to play in 2013 and risk injury that could risk an NFL contract.

Pure fact: The NCAA is so incompetent at enforcement the Manziel's would have to confess to accomplish that end.

I had more fun watching him torch OU than any football game I ever watched except maybe the 77-0 OU dump on AnM or maybe the Flutie miracle.

Poth's 84-0 win over Pettus was pretty hilarious but it was just a 48 minute game.

Johnny Football over OU was the best. I hope he gets to play all year.

    Brad Austin,

The NCAA's cash cow sport is Division I Men's basketball. Something like 80% of their operating revenue comes from the sale of TV rights to the men's hoops tournament.

Okay let me put it this way...if NCAA football or NCAA basketball were on the chopping block...NCAA had to pick only one. Let me see a show of hands if basketball would win that contest. lol I guess I should have been more precise for the cherry pickers by saying the most important NCAA sport in the eyes of Americans, other than using the words cash cow. My bad. That's one thing dollar signs for the NCAA may not show, but still rules all else. Football is king by far in America, trust me. BTW, my point to the effects is the exact same regardless of the cherry pick.

Was mentioned on ESPN that the autograph brokers may be upset that Johnny's lifestyle all year has lowered the value of many of the items for sale on the Internet at great prices, so may be miffed by how things have played out and therefore have leaked information to add to any suspicions already there over the availability of so many quality signed items. Meaning items with added phrases... Heisman 12, or Gig'em.

Colin Cowherd has really put autograph brokers far down on the gene pool... as he puts it. Leaches in hotel lobbies, wearing backpacks, meeting up down hallways, around corners, making backroom deals, hawking...

Manziel only needs to play in 2 games this year, the rest of the schedule they could field the fans.

the way some of you guys root for Manziel makes me wonder how little you may realize that A&M's resulting success because of Manziel may affect our recruiting of state prospects.

PropJoe- I like you but this sounds like wishful thinking. You may be right but in most of these NCAA scenarios the evidence leaks out over time not in the first 24hrs.

Do you think he singed so many things for free? for instance 999 footballs for free?

As you said this will likely go nowhere
I just wondered what you thought?

Least of JFF's problems are going to come from NCAA this season. He is fun to watch, no doubt, but his head is going to.be (even more of) a big mess and ultimately, will be the sword he falls upon

Folks, make it a point to jot down little facts of his goings on because they will be trivia questions in home versions of Sports Jeaoprdy. Whatever Happened To or Colossal Calamities.

If he dodges the bullet on this and gets to the season and has more success... does his Legend grow?

Forgive my ignorance but what website?

I find it dubious that Johnny went to that guys apartment and signed hundreds of autographs. That's what I think is still up in the air. I've seen pics of him signing stuff but nothing en masse.

I don't mean to sound too homerish (perhaps that can't be helped) but I think this story is dead in the water.

I'll be shocked if this sticks. Anyone who has dealt with the media knows that the question is not IF the facts are correct, but how many if the facts are wrong or partially true.
The kids got cash and he knows this could really sink him.
Buddy of mine was a walk in at Aggieland, received a $5,000 car from his grandparents and the coaching staff was all over him asking how he received it.
No doubt, JF knew any funds could really cost him.

all of a sudden he has an "assistant." how convenient for delivering the terms of the deal and then receiving the cash. JFF is dead in the water. Only question is will NCAA take so long, like Cam Newton, that he gets to play because it takes so freaking long for an NCAA investigation.

He's had an assistant for months now. I don't necessarily agree with it but him having an assistant is old news.

Remember way back when Kevin Sumlin wouldn't let Johnny Manziel talk to the media because he was a freshman, and all Johnny Football did was play football? Simpler times.
