It appears the quarterback race at Oklahoma is much clearer now. Coach Bob Stoops said redshirt sophomore quarterback Kendal Thompson suffered a fractured right foot in the team’s first practice Thursday morning and will undergo surgery. Link
""We’re optimistic that Kendal will return early in the season," Stoops said." Translation of stoops-speak: "He'll rehab for 2 full months, start practicing Oct 1, play a few series against TCU, and be ready to start v. Texas if needed."
this offseason has been good news for UT and bad news for OU. hope this trend continues. with OU's currently poor recruiting class can only imagine how a badvseason will hurt them for a couple of years to come.
Our coaches always talk about the critical importance of practices, how there are so few of them, etc. So how is it the Sooners were able to start practice 4 days before us? Will they end up with more practice time before the season starts?
I doubt he will ever be a factor at OU. We are very deep at QB esp. if Thomas doesn't play baseball. Also may be getting Archie Bradley back.
He was a very effective passer in HS. So I hope so. Also been told that Trevor Knight is doing well in workouts.
"Getting Archie Bradley back? The No. 7 overall pick that just did this? How?" Alex, the word is that Archie can make more money playing for ou than he can playing minor league baseball.
Cary, I don't doubt that at all. But then there is the question of the $3-4M that Arizona invested in his signing bonus. If he bombs out after 4-5 years and wants to pull a Brandon Weeden, that's one thing. But someone who is considered the #1 overall pitching prospect in the entire league is another. Did you see him hit 98 during the Futures Game this year? He is awesome.
