At some point this all has to affect Romo mentally. Put up 500+ yards, get picked off with under 2 minutes left to go and possibly have that as what makes you lose. Brutal luck.
Eh. I'm definitely bitter, but no way does Manning score 51 without totally overlooking Franklin tackling defenders on every play, and Manning getting away with a blatant intentional grounding to set up the tying FG. But at least ESPN and company can continue their Peyton Manning sploogefest before the cold weather sets in.
Blaming Romo for the Cowboys defeat is kinda like blaming the 300 Spartans for the Greek defeat at Themopylae.
I enjoy a loss like this more than when the Cowboys get blown out from the start for Jerry's sake. This way he actually gets to be really excited before getting his bubble burst. A little more stress and a few more cocktails after the game means they are just that much closer to a new GM.
How many complete , well executed , mistake free games has Romo had? That would be fairly few at the Cowboys- not sayin, the rest of the team doesn't pile on , but he cannot finish games...
Blaming Romo for this loss is pretty dumb. I personally blame it on the Denver punter not showing up.
Tony Romo....he is consistent, another last minute pick resulting in a loss. How many times will he get away with that and keep his job? But since I detest Jeruh Jones, I enjoy every Cowboy loss. The curse is on Jones...no more super bowls until he's dead....or sells the team. .
Yes, that doofus Tony Romo, leading a team that has shown ability to run with authority in one of it's five games this year as already this season thrown two (2) interceptions. Meanwhile, other quarterbacks of note have performed less well. How many consecutive games has Matt Shaub thrown touchdown passes to somebody on the other team? I think I heard four on the radio this morning. Meanwhile among NFC east quarterbacks besides Romo, Eli Manning is the lone season opening starter who finished a game for his team. He threw three picks, none of which caused his team a last second loss. The hapless Eagles had already put his team away much earlier.
A recurring theme throughout this board is, no matter how much the defense sucks, no matter how many points they give up, the quarterback needs to overcome that, or else he needs to be replaced.
"How many times will he get away with that and keep his job?" Good Lord. He had a 140 passer rating. I guess the question the haters should be asking is "how badly would the Cowboys have been beat if anyone else was their QB yesterday?" Kiffin's D totally neglected the RB all day long, and it came back to bite them in the *** on several drives. If you put one friggin' guy on Moreno or Hillman all game, I think they eventually force a punt.
Romo played great. For sure his best game. Right up until the time he threw the game away. Unfortunately for him, this is what he is know for. The defense was awful, but his poor decision with the game on the line is what everyone will remember. That's just how it is. Reminds me of Top Gun with Jester talking to Maverick. "That's some of the best flying I've seen yet. Right up until the time you got killed. You never, never leave your wingman." ...or throw into triple coverage with the game on the line.
Later-game miscues are always overly-remembered whereas earlier ones get forgotten. What if Dez Bryant hadn't fumbled?
Exhibit #158 of how Tony Romo lacks "it." Other than that, a great game by him. Other than that, Mrs.Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
More idiocy spewing out of Jerry Jones' mouth, as he called the game a "moral victory". Sorry Jerry, there are no moral victories. Only winners and losers.
