Jamail providing cover so they can claim the "decision" was completely Mack's. People don't say this crap if there aren't thing going on behind the scenes. This is good news for those wanting changes.

    Questions.
Jamail makes decisions for the University's athletic department, right?
So Mack reports to Jamail? Is Jamail a paid advisor for UT?
Does jamail make hiring and firing decisions effecting other University employees?
    Who does Jamail answer to?

If Mack stays, the Horns can move their home games to the soccer complex and still have plenty of empty seats.

i can remember when J was just a real obnoxious but very capable lawyer from that seedbed for obnoxious lawyers, Houston.

Now he is kingmaker in athletics at UT. Too bad he doesn't hate the Godzillatron and all the advertising.

This message brought to you by Huisache, official anal fissure of UT athletics.

Mack will decide when he goes,” said Jamail, who talks to Brown daily. “There are so many rumors spread on the Internet these days, but he is not in any trouble. I would know it.

This is why we are not in line for the best coaches in America. We are the Dallas Cowboys with multiple Jerry Jones' that the head coach will have to kiss up to on a daily basis.

Soon Texas will be in the company of the Michigans and Notre Dames, storied programs who make a lot of money, have a big following, but have settled for mediocrity for over a decade. Texas may be the Joneses when it comes to revenue, but Alabama is the Joneses when it comes to winning. Texas could easily be both.

This is the problem with ego. When it has had success at something it becomes convinced it is good at everything.

Nice try Taps, but Mack is done. He will "retire" to keep up appearances, but it's over for him one way or the other.

I think you can tell by his attitude that he is done.

In his half time interviews he used to talk with excitement and positivity. Now he is very matter of fact, and doesn't even feign engagement.

He also looks like he has aged 10 years in the past 3 seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some medical condition.

I can't imagine he would try to endure another season. It might literally kill him.

Money doesn't make a person smart or right. It just means they pout much louder

And if rich loud pouters aren't getting enough attention, then they can pay people to give them attention. Seems like with all those statues and such, Mr. jamail has been paying plenty. Our poor little university, just couldn't get along without all that jamail money, right?

Money may, or may not buy happiness, but it most definitely buys influence.

Money does indeed buy influence, good health care, nice cars, trophy wives, great suits and lots of other stuff.

But its record on buying the best football coaches is spotty.

I think the world of Mack, but the decision to replace him occurred right after the Ole Miss game and Dr. Powers had that conversation with him at that time.

It's a done deal. Mack is simply living out his final season as Texas' head coach.

What a ride it's been. I just hope the next coach is as good.

There are no guarantees. After Mack, Texas could go into another 20-year decline.

But given what DeLoss and Mack have built, that's not likely.

Just, please, don't let it be that cheater wherever he's been, Saban.

We're better than that, no matter how many wins we have.
