In his 2.8 or so years at Texas: 155 receptions for 1914 yards & 10 TDs 19 rushes for 92 yards 5 of 8 passing for 106 yards & 3 TDs 16 punt returns for 127 yards Oh, and he also has 2 solo tackles plus 1 assisted. He might have fallen on a fumble or two at some point but we don't have stats for fumble recoveries by offensive players.
He and Jordan should go down as the most productive brothers in Texas football history. Some others - twins Mike and Tom and younger brother Rusty Campbell, Ernie Jr. and Ted Koy, twins Keith and Kerry Cash, twins Michael and Marcus Griffin, Earl and his twin brothers Tim and Steve Campbell. Wow, that's four sets of twins. Of course there's the McCoy boys. Any that I'm missing?
same number of passing yards magic mike had in his first 3 years. does not get in the endzone as much since he is not the deep threat. He has really improved his blocking this year as well. Can't wait to see what he does next year.
Meh...but I don't think it's his fault. Unlike his brother, he doesn't have anything resembling Colt at QB, and his coaches after 3yrs have no idea how to use him. Unless you consider going sideways a good use.
There is a Hanner Shipley, TE/DL out at Faith Academy in Marble Falls. Not sure if he is related to Jordan and Jaxson but would not be surprised. Texas could use a good TE/DL in 2015 class.
I've been trying in vain to find to find out how many guys have at least X yds rushing, receiving, passing, and returning during their career. There's a surprising lack of true good statistical info out there, mostly just basic records and simple data.
the Kristyniks, Paul and Marvin here' Marvin throwing a pass past future Cowboy coach Jimmy JohnsonThe Link
I've been blasted for this before but I've often wondered why Jaxon was never tried at QB. Does he have a great arm (I'm not sure), but the guy has "it".
Jordan S was a QB but when he and his Dad moved to Burnet he moved to WR since Burnet had a QB named Steohen McGee (TAMU and Dallas Cowboys). Many a record was set by that combo, McGee to Shipley. No idea if Jaxson was ever a QB in HS.
Sweet, I found it! The Link = badass. Only one player has more than 200 yards rushing, passing, receiving, and punt returns for their career: Randall Cobb of Kentucky and Marques Hagans of Virginia. Eight guys have more than 150 in each category and fifteen have more than 100. Jaxon would need 273 in each to be in 2nd place and an astounding 619 to break the "record". I should forward this to whoever is our new coach and let me know to get Jaxon a few rushes his senior year.
