What are we going to do when he and Red finally die? Fold up shop? I would think there are others with money to give. I thought we make money by the boat load. Think how much we could make if we actually won championships on a fairly regular basis.
Sure. We could "survive" without cars, beer and closed toed shoes. But why the hell would we want to do that?
Remember the old song, "Got along without you before I met you, gonna get along without you now." Yes.
Yes...there will be another rich alumnus pop up that doesn't have his pompous head shoved up his own ***. JJ his a has been with maybe 2-3 years left. The MB is truly ******, if not before.
I just realized that Joe Jamail and Jerry Jones have the same initials. That can't just be a coincidence.
The university of Texas has an endowment of $7.2 billion, out of the $16.11 billion (according to 2008 estimates) available to the University of Texas System. This figure reflects the fact that the school has the largest endowment of any public university in the nation.[citation
JJ has a big mouth. He doesn't believe everything he says and neither should you. You will see him at DKR next year because he likes the show. He isn't going anywhere.
Large donors, while still revel event, are not nearly as important as in the past. Look at the total revenues coming in from the big 12 tv contract, LHN, etc. Jamal and McCombs are a drop in the bucket compared to the new revenue landscape. Besides, why should a plaintiff's attorney and car salesman have anyway in who our coach is.
I hope this is not a serious question. There are several other alums that can buy both Red and Jamail multiple times. Can we survive an ambulance chaser that happens to be representing our coach everyone wants gone? Of course. If he's going to keep popping off in the media about suing people who try and get rid of Mack or comparing us to al Qaeda, the sooner he dies the better.
Any donor who makes his donations contingent on the program doing only what he feels to be the right decisions should be shown the door. Sure you receive more influence and an open ear when major decisions come up. But having the power to make these decisions regardless of what the university chooses is garbage. If UT makes a decision that he doesn't agree with, and he decides to withdraw because of it, then get the f out the way. This isn't Joe Jamail University. These moral barren pricks can pout all day long like little children when they don't get their way. Who gives a damn? This school won't have any problems finding another loaded Longhorn to take his place. As a matter of fact, I'm sure there a handful that would immediately jump all over that opportunity to be so close to the program. Maybe we should replace Jamail and McCombs along with Mack. New huge donors and new coach. Clean some of the grumpy old man syndrome out of the program. I'm down with that.
what brad said // Same view of White House cronyism that creates a weak incompetent exec branch in all depts, agencies, appointments. No no's, all yesses. Culture of Mediocrity and no Accountability .
No, they don't make the decisions, and supposedly don't and won't have that power. Input is the right they deserve but nothing more. The reason why this is coming up is Jamail is starting to sound like he's demanding what he wants or else.
In all fairness, maybe I missed it but I haven't seen him make any threat of that nature. He was asked his opinion and gave it on Mack's future. I don't think he's ever said that if he doesn't get his way he's not going to contribute any more. Having said that, the stuff he said this week basically blaming Case for the loss was out of line coming from someone who is Mack Brown's de facto spokesman.
