Was it chambers' fault the te was so invisible these past few years (even going back to Colt McCoy's years)? Or was it the new offensive scheme? Lack of good te recruits? I would say coach chambers has worked with some great rb and te's and they have been productive in college and the nfl. Although the same could be said about Giles and Akina. Maybe his ties to the dallas carter pipeline gave him the in to stay on staff? Thoughts?
Thinking he would keep at least 1 asst coach, I would have bet on Wyatt. On Strong's first recruiting trip, who did he take with him? You guessed it, Chambers.
For a guy who was supposed to be coaching TEs (check out Swaim in the bowl game, or really any participation in which TEs had to do something other than block), and coordinating recruiting (constant 4/5 stars to "meh"), this is probably the 2nd-or-3rd biggest shock in terms of coach retainers. I think Strong just wanted someone to help with the "moving to Texas" transitions.
When was the last time Chambers put a player in the NFL? Akina? On the other hand maybe Akina didn't want to stay at Texas
Its amazing how a coaching change brings a 180 attitude change.. Last month Texas could do nothing wrong, now Texas can do nothing right
