This team was ripe for a loss. They have wildly exceeded expectations prior to this game. The rest of this league is too tough, and as much as we might wish otherwise, this is not a final four caliber team.

This game was a reality check. And from now on, Texas will be the hunted rather than the hunter, which provides a whole new sort of challenge, actually a more difficult challenge than coming in as the underdog.

So this team is at a crossroads. Are they ready to step up to the next level over the next few games and really show us something? Or are we going to have to wait until next year for that? Either way, no one should be surprised to see this team lose another game or two here in the next week or so as they grapple with this question.

Sadly, you could see this coming a mile away. Horns always struggle in Manhatten and this team is not good enough to just show up and beat anyone. This should re-focus them and hopefully be a springboard for rest of year. Starts with Okie State and WVU at home this week,

Happy with this team but I won't get too up or down. This home stretch is a doozy and would hope to break even.

Not that his presence would have meant the difference between winning and losing today, but the best player on the team went out with injury. If Holmes has a serious injury which causes him to miss additional games, this team will struggle to win.

A back loaded schedule that has the Norman/Ames/Lawerence tri-fecta coming up. It is unlikely that they win at any of those places, because very seldom does a visitor win at those places. Favored to win the other five, which would put this club at 23-8. An astounding finish given what was expected. As was stated in a prior post, today's loss was no real surprise to anyone.

#7 Cincy getting a bad beat down on the road also. Never easy winning on the road. KSU is a very tough win on the road. Horns need to bounce back at home. Two tough games ahead.

When one of the opposing guards shoots 13-16 (over 80%) for the game you just have to tip your hat, respect your opponent, and hope you get a chance to match up again in the future.

Hope Holmes is OK... hook 'em!

The loss wasn't a surprise, but the manner in which it happened was. This beat down to any mojo r they had from beating four ranked opponents. How this team bounces back from yesterday will tell a lot.

I tuned in after we were already behind, but from what I saw, we did not look as bad as the score showed. Shots just weren't falling, balls were skipping off our hands, KSt was hitting everything, and the ball just kept bouncing their way. To me, we still looked like a good team.

It makes you wonder why everyone wasn't playing zone during our great stretch. We can't shoot for ****.
