Just when you think it is as screwed up as it can get now we learn that insurance companies like Humana expect to extract 250 million-450 million from taxpayers in 2014 just to cover losses.
We learn( as if we didn't know ) that not enough paying people and younger paying people are signing up for Ocare

    and today's kicker?
No BO is likely once again rewriting laws
    from AP
?The Obama administration is considering an extension of the president's decision to let people keep their individual insurance policies even if they are not compliant with the health care overhaul, industry and government officials said Thursday.

Avalere Health CEO Dan Mendelson said Thursday that the administration may let policyholders keep that coverage for as long as an additional three years, stressing that no decision has been made. Policymakers are waiting to see what rate hikes health insurers plan for the insurance exchanges that are key to the overhaul's coverage expansions."The Link

We also can't forget the CBO's projection of lost hours/ jobs due to 'disincentive" to work when you can get the rest of us to pay for or hugely subsidize your health care.
To those who even though they have enrolled and paid into obamacare exchange they are finding they can't keep their doctor
or to those who are now have insurance through their employer who are being told to prepare to lose that insurance ( see AOL as only one example)

were there any who benefitted from Ocare? yes there were. We could have covered them with platinum plans and saved the taxpayer Hundreds of millions.
The saddest part of all is all this was warned about , even the CBO warned about the loss of and the disincentive to work in 2011)

Unfortunately, this report will not be the death blow. The only potential death blow comes next election cycle as hopefully Americans realize where Obamacare is taking the country. If the republicans take over the senate and house, they still will not be able to kill it. However, they would be able to stop the constant changes Obama is making midstream. The only hope will be that the next president will lead the country to a smarter healthcare system.

If it does not get killed, it simply turns the current system into a government monopoly. It does not address the core problem which is personal accountability for your own health. It fails to see the core problems associated with the health crisis.

It starts with a false belief that healthcare is equal to health insurance. As everyone begins to pay premiums, co-pays and deductibles that never reach the "free point", they will realize the new Ponzi scheme they have entered. Access to healthcare is not limited to or predicated by those who have insurance now, but will eventually be rationed by government dimwits. At that point, only people with cash will receive quality care in a timely manner.

In one sentence you made the most salient point that even the most ardent BO supporter can't dispute.

"It starts with a false belief that healthcare is equal to health insurance.'

The dems are spinning this as a good thing because people that just worked to have healthcare are now free to job hop or chase their dreams without work holding them back. I would like one of our resident liberals defend this and maybe put their best spin on it. I don't see how this could be good for our country.

The CBO report has been used in a misleading way by both parties. I honestly saw nothing new in the report that was not already predicted.

If you think in an European way, this is great. You can become less productive and you can still get the benefits of those who are more productive. It is great if you hate capitalism.

If you think in an American way, you know that 20% of your employees produce the quality of 80% of your product or service. It is offensive if you dislike socialism. It is offensive that someone takes your productivity to pay for their desire to not be productive.

I think this will result in a slight dip in employment figures, probably in a positive way. Payroll expense will fall without a dip in productivity.

The CBO report also highlights a 1% tax on productive salaries which is the bigger story to me.

if we didn't know this was actually happening we wouldn't believe a POTUS would attempt this crap.

NOW if addition to delaying the mandate for employers with 50-99 employees until 2016
Yes 2016, 6 YEARS after No signed the law
the Doofus is also delaying the mandate for large employers( over 100 employees)
Instead of having to offer coverage to 95% of full time workers Bo has dialed it back to 70%.
maybe he should go back to saying , " IF you like your health plan and Dc you can keep it PERIOD.

and look at some of the ideas from both parties to address the uninsured, pre existing etc.
This idiot's plan still leaves 31 million without insurance according to th CBO

You're not losing your job. You're being freed from "job lock", dependency on your employer to provide health care you couldn't otherwise afford.

Apparently BO has told the zombie minions to play up this angle because all of a sudden we're hearing it from everyone from Pelosi to Keith Ellison, the wacko leftist from Minnesota. How do these people sleep at night?

What are the rules on changing law as the President seems to have done? Who is the check to balance the Executive Branch in this type of case or does it even matter?

Does this set a precedent that the President can change whatever law they want, whenever they want? Mutability of the law?

I guess this is really a good thing since it shows what a disaster the law is in the first place. Be careful not to fight against the delay, only fight against the ability of the Executive Branch to flaunt the law, any law on the books. That to me is the bigger issue here that could be dangerous for Hillary to grab that new power to do whatever she wants.

I like Brooks from the NYTimes some of the time but could not disagree more to this article which says the Executive needs more power, not less, nor just follow the rules as currently written.

Nancy said the new "rule" will allow creative people to avoid being tied down with a job, so they can work less and get subsidies for healthcare. Which I will be paying for. [IMG]

I heard representative Trey Gowdy speak about the President's obvious violation of the constitution on a regular basis. The Congress has multiple remedies, but those remedies take a Senate willing to enforce them or years in court.

I think the republicans are simply targeting winning back the Senate by avoiding any public controversy like the debt ceiling. I personally believe this is short sighted, but it sounds like their options are somewhat limited.

I know there are more educated constitution posters here and would appreciate their evaluation.

One statistically data point no one questions is the low public opinion of Congress. Easy to recognize buffoons.
But fact is, we keep them in office. I wish there was a lever designated 'all nonincumbent'!
They are greedy, cowards. And yes, I do generalize - deliberately.

In fairness to Pelosi this isn't new for her, she was using this before they passed the law as a reason for passing the law.

It's hilarious to see Americans finally realizing how much healthcare actually costs.

As it was going, the former healthcare system was unsustainable. Republicans have had decades to work out a reasonable healthcare alternative ---- including six years from 2000-2006 in which they held both houses of Congress and the White House ----- and failed to do so. The thing that they DID manage to do was get us into the multi-trillion dollar wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If ACA is so great then why allow the multiple delays and the opt out possibilities?

Healthcare in the US did not "suck" before, during or after ACA. Healthcare is not insurance.

Healthcare is provided by doctors, nurses, etc. Insurance is provided by Flo.
