Myles Turner

The big man from Trinity HS in Euless that's ranked #2 on ESPN's Top 100 will make his decision on April 30th.

The dude is a beast with range to the arc. The Horns appear to have a real shot at getting him.

All Signs Point to Texas for Myles Turner's Long-Awaited Decision

 

Nabbing him wouldn't just be big. With the core group of players we have in place, and higher expectations than the round of 32 next season, that could be THE push that puts us with some serious company. We'd just need to see some improvements, particularly from the backcourt.

 

Here's hoping he chooses the Horns.

I know it's unfair to the kid to make comparisons, but I can see that he's a big fan of KD from the highlight video on the link that I posted.

The kid sure has a nice stroke for a 7 footer (or any size for that matter) and that stop and pop move looks kind of familiar.

He also has a lot of offensive moves around the basket that you don't typically see in a HS post player.

 

This would be huge. I would buy season tickets to watch this kid play and elevate our program again.

Jordan Barnett is a great addition to that front court as well. Plays bigger than his 6-7 height and should provide depth at both forward positions. Will make for some interesting combinations next season.

 

We should be a top 5 team this season.

 

Thrilled for the players and coaches to have another quality (in most every regard) person in the basketball program. Congratulations all around... this is exciting!

Where can I get one of those hats?

 

I agree on the outside shooting. Hopefully the guards are out shooting like a thousand shots a day during the summer and can become more consistent in games.

Last season it seemed like one guard would be hot for a game, then everyone would go cold for a couple of games, then another player would have a hot game and so on ...

 

I know I've read that both Holmes and Taylor are really dedicated to improving their outside shooting over the off-season. Of course, saying that is one thing and actually improving is another... but I think both of them have the ability to be at least serviceable if not solid.

That to me was really the missing piece from this team last year. We have to figure out a way to score from outside consistently. Turner should help immediately.

 

Hats off to Patterson the New AD. I see the old attitude of Texas. When were tough in every Sport.
