The last conference series of the season finds the Longhorns in Manhattan to face a very bad KSU team.

They lost their first five games of the season and have played consistently bad all year. This team won the conference last season and was favored to win again this year.

Instead they are 24-28 on the season and 4-17 in conference play. To put it in perspective in the last two Sunday conference games against TCU and OSU they have given up 38 runs in two run ruled defeats.
In the TCU game they were leading 7-4 in the fifth and then gave up a seven run fifth and a ten run sixth to lose 21-7. Then next week came the 17-5 loss at home to OSU.

As bad as it's been they still managed to squeeze out one conference series win against Baylor. That tells you just how bad last year's feat of losing every conference series was for Texas.

Texas starts junior lefty Dillon Peters at 5-3 with an era of 2.50 against sophomore righty Jake Matthys at 2-4 and 7.88.

Peters gets the start because French has had the flu and has been pushed back to Sunday.

The game is televised in Kansas, but nowhere else.

    The Link

This is the link I have for tonight's game, which is the KSU pay stream. Hopefully it will be up and running by game time.

Texas should sweep this series and if they don't at least win it, well I would just pack up the bats and balls and let KSU go to the tourney in our place and call it a season.

Marlow takes a called strike three for one away.

Johnson steps in right handed and drops a bunt and the pitcher fields and goes 1-3 for two down.

Payton bats lefty and grounds to first and it goes 3-1 to retire the side in order.

Kansas State comes to bat looking to break the scoring ice.

Kind of a shame we had to pull Dillon Peters with a no-hitter going on, but he had thrown 94 pitches, and with the conference tournament starting Wednesday, it had to be done.
Great job tonight on the mound!

Carter leads off the ninth with a home run to left to make it 9-0.

The video feed has gone haywire and I don't know what AmaRecTV Live is as it flashes over and over.

Shaw also gets a hit and I think it was a single.

Hinojosa doubles into the left field corner to put runners at second and third.

That's all for Witcig and a pitching change is made.

Braxton Wilks is the latest hurler for KSU.

He faces Clemens with runners at second and third and no outs.

He sends another drive out of the park to make it now 12-0.
It cleared the fence in right field.

Gurwitz bats with the bases empty and still no outs.

It seems even the K-State camera's couldn't stand this much offense from Texas.

Gurwitz flies out to center for one away.

Marlow bats again at the top of the order.
A ground ball to first is two away.

Yes AmaRecTV Live you are freezing in red flashing letters it says.

    Johnson bats with two outs.
    He walks for another runner.

Payton bats again after extending his on base streak on what was thought to be his last at bat last inning.

He pops up to third to retire the side.

Texas tacks on four more on two homers to make it 12-0 to the bottom of the ninth.

One more thing to try to get tonight and it's too bad we lost the video feed to see the attempt.

First out in ninth is long flyball to the fence, but caught by Ben Johnson. Second out is slow roller, batter out on throw to first.
Pinch hitter is last hope for KSU. He flies out to left! Combined no-hitter!
UT wins 12-0, outhits the Wildcats19-0.
KSU has been wiped out by injuries this year, and they may be very dispirited at this point. Nevertheless, they were picked as preseason Big XII favorites based on their superregional appearance last year. They must have something, and tomorrow is senior night.
Can't assume a victory, although it was pretty easy tonight. [IMG]
