They guesstimated an additional $1,000,000 of income per year from football games, but at $8.00 a can/bottle, screw that. I'll get my buzz on tailgating before the game.

Yeah that alcohol sold at football games...the devil. Then again that foozeball is the devil too. Guess we will continue to watch reasonable, mature UT fans head for the aisles in masses handful of minutes before halftime to make whatever hike to grab a few beers before the 2nd half. And let's make sure to condense the time they can ingest them so it is so much safer and has less effect on the blood alcohol. lol

You're not going to stop drinking for games or even pounding to squeeze it in during games. But you can allow people to pace it better as it's available. Grow up and let adults police their own behavior. Been to countless pro games and it's no more obnoxious with alcohol. Huge rivalry or games of monster importance are obnoxious most times regardless.

BTW, back in the 90's in the largely slim results years...there was no huge difference in fighting or behavioral problems. And those days liquor bottles filled the foot areas as you poured out of the stadium. 100's of them and absolutely not relegated to student section. Drinking hard liquor is far more dangerous than simple beer sales. Games were just fine back then to attend.

Wah wah as usual by the old cronies...just pass on already. Patterson is all for progressive and bold in pointless areas, then bows down like a beech when the old stiff suits bark to keep the fans on a short leash like the 50's. Keep Austin Hypocritical as usual. We are so progressive in Austin?...but oh no, at our football games beer/wine is only available for the rich old cronies in the club. There's no problem with alcohol sales to them. It's the rest of the fans, they aren't mature enough for that, and the old cronies have the right to decide on who's okay for that. lol Break a hip.

I was having fun with the pictures.

I think DKR could handle in-stands sales of beer and wine better than most campuses in the Big 12. And yes, when I went to school we snuck in flasks.

Can anyone say if Southern Comfort is a party liquor anymore? For some reason that was a very big deal "back then." I later switched to Scotch and Cognac. During and after the military.

First of all, I think the Chancellor's 'veto' is more a timing issue than anything else.

Second, if anyone with any say over the sale of beer at DKR-TMS follows sites like Hornfans, the number of posts over time that comment on the missteps of those who've had too much to drink, and/or those full of bragadocio about escapades at DKR-TMS that include drinking on the sly or ahead of time, well that would chill anyone in an admin capacity.

    Think about it.

I don't drink American beers, they are cheaply made and taste horrible at room temperature. I pay more for good German beers, especially if straight from Germany and brewed subject to their purity laws.

Well let's test the law of Supply and Demand what would be the max price you would pay for whatever your German beer is?

Supply and Demand says that we would sell maybe 100 of these beers all season and you would probably have to pay $30-$40 for said beer, would you be willing to pay it?

I am sure you understand the operational effectiveness of selling craft beer to 100,000(50,000) american football fans.........

I know the Texans and Cowboys sell specialty drinks and liquors, I wonder what that breakdown is?

No, because I don't drink beer at games. And as the beer vendors at the stadium don't sell them, there is nothing for me to consider buying. But, if German beers were available, then I might even at $30.
