They cried and pouted and took their ball and left. THEY WALKED AWAY. Why reward them for bad behavior? f**k aggy.
"You would like to see it happen," Strong told ESPN.com on Wednesday. "At some point it needs to happen. We need to play them." That's a quote in the article that's linked
I dunno... that might make it a little crowded in A&M's schedule and force them to drop that rivalry with Texas State...
I am way past aggy by now. Screw them and the sheep they rode in on. They talked a big talk on the way out the door thinking they were wiping our faces in it, although by now they must feel some kind of resentment at the lack of UT fans who actually gave a **** and/or any measurable amount of attention to it. To me it was like watching a one night stand leave the next morning. Don't even have to give a pleasant nod to be over it. That said, Charlie is taking us to the next chapter. No need to revisit the freak show.
I want nothing to do with them unless postseason. Not because they left...but because life has been so much less frustrating without Aggy noise and illogical trash talking. Think about it, it really has been so much less irritating than when we played. I see far less sawed off Horns on back truck windows than I have since the sticker came out. They replaced their typical annoyances with moronic signs that tout their conference even above their own school. The guy across the courtyard has a "This is SEC Country" sign in maroon and white. Barely even mentions the Aggy name on it...very small part of sign. Would you wear an f'n shirt that the whole overwhelming message of the shirt was your team's conference? Wtf is that? Tell me we all aren't so much happier that dumb **** like that isn't as prevalent in our lives as it used to be. Outsiders like Strong don't understand where we are coming from. It's not two siblings who had a tiff and need to patch it up. This is a deep rift over years of intolerance of one another. Even Bedford being away for a while can't see it from our point of view. The majority of Texas fans want no part of that game for a long while. They should respect that. We are the ones that have to deal with these clowns on a daily basis. No thanks.
I agree with CS. It would be great if UT and A&M played in football every Thanksgiving and it was shown on national TV.
I would like to see the return of the Texas/Texas A&M series, but I'll put a +1 on it: I would also like to see the return of another classic series: Texas vs. Arkansas. I'd like to see a plan where we play the Aggies (in all sports) in odd academic years and play the Razorbacks in even years. On the other hand, I really like 27-25 and all the bragging rights that come with it. It's one of my favorite Texas games ever, and like a fine wine, the bragging rights get better with age.
