According to Bleacher Report and SI now. Says that he reaggravated the 2011 hamstring injury over the summer, and then tweaked it in practice. No timetable for return.

Down to just Marcus Johnson and John Harris as the only unsuspended, uninjured WRs who have caught at least a pass in the last couple years.

Now we have zero known WR depth. Here's to a long fall......

Sounds day-to-day, sure he'll be good to go within a week or two. Ship is one of the last ones I worry about missing time as long as it doesn't linger once he returns. BTW, the extra quality reps for inexperienced, young WR's will help them a ton. Diggs will make sure of that.

Welcome to The Pit in August Mr. Shipley. [IMG]

If Daje Johnson will get it together... swing pass out of the backfield?

    Tight ends ... step up.

Strong just said in press conference they are looking for 5 WR's. Johnson practiced today. Said he, Warrick, and Harris will get a ton of work. There's 3 right there. I've heard him praise Warrick (Diggs has too) several times lately.

Then Daje is in the wings suspended...but should be back playing after game or so off. Said they are working the 5 freshmen in but they're just getting acclimated to practice pace, information, etc.

No need to panic on the WR's, we'll be fine. Expect Ship, Johnson, Warrick, and Harris all for North Texas. Daje soon after. I've got no problems with the talent of that group of 5 vets. Not to mention the freshmen have solid talent, at least one should make a push at the top 5.

Interesting notes from the presser...Strong looked completely calm and sure for the first time I've seen him in front of the cameras. Not a concern in the world. The man is finally back where he belongs, coaching, coaching, and more coaching.

Players are staying in the dorm, each with a roommate. Offense on one floor, defense on another. ALL OF THE COACHES ARE STAYING THERE TOO. Wow, that's awesome. The entire staff and team living together like a pro camp.

Next time you start to panic at Shipley's temporary bump in the road over 3 weeks before North Texas ...go watch tonight's press conference. If you still feel uneasy, nothing is gonna help but the wins coming soon. [IMG]

P.S.: Confirmed Ship is headed for The Pit. Ouch!

If the TEs are as useless as they have been the past couple years, then I'm all for throwing Oliver and G-Gray out there in the offset slot positions and having them catch things over the middle, in the flats, and occasionally block. Hell, 2008 would have looked a lot different if we stuck with inept TE play after Irby went down to injury.

And for everyone who's all "but Swaim and Daniels are such good blockers!" weren't watching the same 2013 games as me. They were average at best and helped to disguise some of the average-ness of the OL. Some of our best runs were actually counters or weird formations without TEs.

He's a Shipley. He'll rub some dirt on it and be in there.

Friend, I am sure you meant to write "clan" and that you did not intend to make or imply any connection between the awesome Shipley family, who have contributed so much to our dear University, and to those idiotic inbred hillbilly racists who use the word "klan" to identify themselves.

    Sorry if I'm overreacting.
