Perhaps it is the 2 Divine Reserve 14's I have savored this evening, but it occurs to me it is time to declare TEXAS will no longer be associated with the mantle of doing less with more. TEXAS will no longer walk gently into that good night. TEXAS will bring fear and uncertainty to our opponents. Young men full of purpose and righteous rage will strike down those who have doubted their heart and secretly regaled in the mire of the last 5 years. The pale horse is coming and with it the reckoning for those who so gleefully rejoiced in our apparent demise.

A new day is dawning, and with it a new attitude.

    ALL OTHERS ARE ON NOTICE.

I God Damn Love THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.

    LET"S GET THIS STARTED!

    T-E-X-A-S!!!!!!!!!

I'm damn sure ready to have this team be thought of one that plays to or above their potential. Field a team that is far more than the sum of it's parts.
Have the coaching staff be thought of as one that molds overlooked talent into top quality performers. Be thought of as a team that worries higher ranked teams. I want legit top quality defense.

I hope and believe this is the start.

Slam me, but this is the type of coaching staff I've wanted here since 2002. It's exactly what we've needed: a HC who's passionate about football and his players as men; a HC who lives to coach; a staff that mirrors him; a staff whose egos are subservient to the greater good; a desire to instill in their team an attitude of both relentless aggression and annihilation. I'm stoked!

    And, no, that's not a typo - I meant 2002.

I would love to see a Tough, physical game wherein Brown and JG amass more than 110 yards rushing each

I'm tired of a football team that pussyfoots around. I want hard hitting, and I want it now.

Try to imagine the shock and surprise, and the bandwagons rolling, when this team is sitting at 6-0 for the late night College Football Final on Oct. 11th.

What will Dr. Lou proclaim? He had Strong on his staff at Notre Dame, and I think at So. Carolina, too.

add this.... tweet... Big12 beat writer for ESPN
Max Olson (max_olson) approx. 3:15 pm, Tue, 26-Aug

Louisville had 21 10+ play scoring drives last yr. 17 for 5+ mins.
UL defense played 187 fewer snaps than Texas did. These are related.

Max Olsen pulled that quote, from this....
    Strong's defense-first recipe will test Big 12

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Assuming the team stays relatively healthy, I have privately told a number of Horn Fans that I think this team could be a new version of Shock & Awe!!

    We will see [IMG]

One thing we can count on from this staff is coaches not over-selling the state of the team or painting a bright picture when things are unsettled and dim. That being said, these coaches sound more confident in the team now than I ever expected to hear. It's almost borderline that they share a funny secret between them. Like they realize they are about to open the cage and unleash a bunch of deadly, starving lions on a jungle full of unsuspecting gazelles.

This isn't pumping sunshine or expecting miracles, but folks this season is gonna be very rewarding and a treat to experience with them. I'm not sure Strong understands yet the magnitude at which the Horns fans share his team's hunger to regain our national respect and pride as a fanbase. Let's make sure we match the team's effort, emotion, and commitment while we lay some serious whoop-*** once again. [IMG]
