I love everything about Texas and I like what Coach Strong is doing for Texas; but they do not have a qb, no wr's that are game changers, no strong running backs a little girl could take down Gray and Brown. Off. line is second rate high school line .Center can not get the ball to qb when qb is under center, kicker can't make extra point and make 50% of field goals. Def. can't can 't stop run or pass, no pass rush . One man can not make 1 on 1 tackle . The off. want to run the ball like 1969 and this pass happy 2014. Texas needs to get with the new program. I like Mack Brown a lot but he did let the Texas program go way down. Maybe Coach Strong will get back ; the way it looks now it may take 5-10 years to get back. What good player will want to go to Texas when they know they will not be on the national stage for a good while.

Sounds about right. You're probably going to get a few dissidents who'll argue just to revise history and re-adjust the narrative against your new coaching staff to protect the previous ousted regime, but you're not wrong. You lack talent and depth in key areas, you have some of it in other areas. It's going to be a struggle to move the ball, and the defense may overheat under the pressure to keep games competitive. Any neutral observer can see that.

Well, the defense is a little better than you are saying, and if the offense were playing better, you would be thinking we are already good enough, or certainly no more than a year or two or a player or two away. Also, I think our RBs are better than you are saying. Really, if the OL got experience and turned out to be good--e.g., next year, and we got one more explosive guy on the field--maybe even Daje or Warrick--and we had a legitimate dual threat at QB (maybe Heard), the offense could be a lot closer to good than it looks now. I.e., within 12 to 24 months, we could be fielding a very good team. I know that has several "ifs" but the point is, we are not 5-10 years away.
