For those who think I'm just sensationalizing news, this is what the IC does.

It's terrifying to think what AQ or ISIL could do with a couple of well placed operatives at international airports. They would have to come up with some kind of incubated delivery system to infect travelers or their luggage (e.g. brushing against them), or find infected but asymptomatic operatives to just fly back and forth.

Based on what the CDC and WHO, "infected but asymptomatic" is impossible. The Director of the CDC stated that even during the early stages of the fever Ebola is not contagious. That's what makes weaponizing this a challenge, I believe. There is only a 7-10 day period between when the victim contracts the disease to death. It moves so fast that an infected person wandering around the airport would only able to do so for a very short period before they were obviously sick. The extreme fever and obvious sweating would be a dead giveaway.

I'm not saying it can't happen but is NOT as easy as that conservative hoaxavist (James XXX?) would have anyone believe.

Seattle is correct. I would be better stopping here although since this is the West Mall...

The virus could mutate. In its original host, the virus does not kill. In humans, a less lethal virus and one that is easier to contract would ensure the virus' survival. So its evolutionary path would naturally lead to a better weapon.

    Chango,

I appreciate Seattle's expertise. I'm not a doctor, so I take his knowledge of the subject with 100% faith, and I absolutley respect his contribution to this question.

I was, however, an intelligence officer both in the Navy and the lettered agencies. And just because an op may be hard, or even seemingly impossible (which weaponizing Ebola decidely is not) doesn't mean the enemy won't give their every effort - and I mean EVERY effort, to develop it. The resourcefullness and creativity of these maniacs are off the charts. The whole point of red teaming, is to test seemingly unimpeachable and invulnerable theories, assessments, pracitices, tactics, and defenses. If you're not considering the sensational, then you're not doing your job.

But if you're fine with the "we felt it was very had for them to do" excuse from the DCIA in front of a Senate Intelligence Committee, then we should just roll over for these ******** and be done with it.
