With our style of football I can tell what positions that we will do well at and what positions we won't.

DEFENSE: We are going to get the best recruits for the defense at ever position. What def player wouldn't want to play the type of defense that Charlie brings.

OFFENSE: OL would love to play in a running style offense. We will be big at that position too. Which also means we will get top notch RBs as well. We will get pretty good QBs. But the QB's that love to air it out will be going to Baylor and Tech and other spread offensive teams. But I think we already got a good one on the way for the future. WR will kill us. I just don't see top notch WRs coming here. We will get lucky here and there but it will be a struggle.

SPECIAL TEAM: This will be a our biggest improvement. Because these guys will be the back ups that are recruited for defense. We will be stacked on the defensive side. I just don't know how well we will do with getting punters and kickers.

I think the future looks bright though for the Horns. I just worry about the WR position the most. [IMG]

I think you make fair points. I am curious...how deep are we at OL for next year? Are we redshirting a bunch of players or are we starting from scratch more or less? I love the improvement from our OL this year...but worry about how quickly we can get depth at that position.

Mop, I'm not sure, but with all the OL players we dismissed from the team I'd think were low. What I do like is Charlie is not afraid to make a change when needed. Did you notice that Raulerson (C 6-5 281 was replaced by a bigger Taylor Doyle (OG 6-4 298) now playing center? Of course he had trouble with a hard snap when in the shotgun. Charlie has already said he wants big Texas players.

Our first two 2016 recruits are both 4-star WRs.

Jon Harris and Shipley seem to be doing ok. Swoopes is developing, and Watson seems to be opening up the playbook, taking what defenses are giving. Which includes the long passing game (reference ISU most recently).

I hope this continues and expands. Swoopes has a big arm and we need to use it.

Yeah I feel better about our WR recruits after the last two games. It seems like Watson is trusting Swoopes to throw downfield more as he gets more experience. It seems I was basing my opinion from what I was seeing at the time.

Erin Hogan (104.9 FM, Austin) said this morning that DB present recruits are 200 lb hitters. Some of the DBs currently on the team were former quarterbacks. Team is moving toward hitters. Jason Hall type guys.

I notice in Statesman this morning, UT is #1 in pass defense in the league, and #5 in the country. Was 3rd a week ago before Iowa State game. They are far down the list in other categories.

What's looming is a defensive line and front 7 that keep the passer ineffective near the LOS, and cover guys that also put you down on contact. No YAC. This year is just the begining, and not even near where it's going to be.

Improvement in Special Teams a must.

Special teams will get fixed, just a lack of depth. And this defense is going to be fun to watch over the years, i miss having a good hard hitting defense!

They won't make grades at Texas, you have to at least write the paper and have it graded by the teacher at Texas.
