Louisville vs. Florida St tonight. Saw a chart on some afternoon ESPN show.... Louisville is #1 nationally in three defensive categories, and #3 in another. A CBS article lists these gems...
I want this information to say something important and hopeful to me about Charlie Strong. Does it do that? Because I want it to.
I think Strong/Bedford are having the same effect at Louisville that Muschamp had here. The new defensive guy comes in the players play sound football. It makes it so much easier for the new DC to establish himself. I wouldn't bet on the new UL DC being as terrible in years 2 and 3 as Diaz was, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a drop off.
Waiting for 21-0...maybe in a moment. Closing in on it. This game so far shows what idiots have put FSU at the top all year, or even in the Top 10. They were pushed by Ok-State for crying out loud in the opening game. Clemson should have beaten them (albeit without JW). Okay, now it's 21-0. So, Winston, let's see if you can talk your way to a 3 touchdown comeback. Waiting. Maybe you will. Maybe you want. P R E N T E N D E R S, and the funny thing is that it was obvious all year. From now on, please just get over the "undefeated" factor. It don't mean crap.
Also noted... Strong did not leave the cupboard bare in Louisville. Maybe that says something about him as a coach, and his staff. Maybe the Horns should watch this game tonight and see the results of 23-1 there the past two seasons, rolled over to this one. Taking care of Mr. Heisman and FS Pretender U.
Baylor came from 21 down against TCU in the fourth. Can Mr. Big outscore Louisville 21 the rest of the game? By the way, what does this say about Notre Dame??
Never underestimate the power of the butt fumble as it puts six on the board for FSU. Been awhile since a big butt fumble, there was a bunch of them last year.
So if the undefeated record doesn't mean anything and FSU somehow pulls out a lucky win tonight (with plays like that last TD), should a one loss SEC team be ranked higher for the playoff?
Since Charlie's having kind of a crummy time this year I'm giving him partial credit for what UL is doing tonight. Petrino is doing a good job but Charlie set the foundation. I think that's fair.
It is a legal play to go play action on 3rd and one. Petrino, read this carefully. You can go play action.
It's also ok to cover the running back out of the backfield. That's gotta be 4 catches in this quarter by the RB.
Well there is the start of the lucky win as two defensive backs crunch each other on an interception that allows the ball to get through and the result is a touchdown and the first FSU lead.
L'ville deserves to lose. You know you have a punter that can't punt the ball more then 30 yds and you run draw on 3rd and 11. They had to take the risk there and try and get a 1st. Because there really isn't all that much risk when your punter sucks that bad.
5:55 to go, 3-pt lead, you have the ball. Just need a first down or two. As in UCLA... Get out of your end of the field. Like Texas... penalty on 2nd down, end up punting. Gonna take a turnover for the Cardinals to hold on.
You are playing #2 and you play not to lose. Who does that. They played to win in the 1st quarter and now play not to lose when it matters most.
L'ville was up by 4, I think, but I went to bed. Had no confidence they would hold on and win. They did lose, right?
