Hate to hear it. I haven't been on nearly as much as I was 5-10 years ago and seldomly post anymore, but come here once a week to check the threads. I guess I'm not aware of the fallout and what it entails but let me say thanks for the memories and humor, elation, sadness, and depression we all have been able to use this site for as Longhorn fans throughout the years. I would always come here win or lose to post and see the reactions from my peers. Some of my greatest debates were the "VY vs the Texans" from years past. Will miss the heck out of Hornfans.

Sorry to hear you're shutting down the site. I'm a long-time lurker, non-poster, but I read the site virtually every day. I hope you change your mind; it's always good to have multiple sources for news and discourse.

Thanks of all you've done all these years. I've enjoyed the info from this site. Guess I'll start searching for new sources.

From the bottom of my heart, THANKS! I can't remember when I first started reading Hornfans, but it was like an amazing lifeline to "home" when I moved from Texas to DC. I still have the t-shirt from one year's donation to the site. I have so many great memories of posters, football conversations, and often pure comedy. Thanks again and Hook Em!! [IMG]

I haven't posted here in a while, but happened to check back in to see what's new(s). Bummer to hear this site will be shut down, as it was the first Longhorn football board that I was active in. But like they say, all good things must come to an end.

Thanks to Robert and Katy and everybody else who made this a friendly place to post (and sometimes vent). Will hopefully meet everyone again on the far side... 'til (after) Gabriel blows his horn.

It seems like it has been at least six or seven years since I've posted anything. Never felt like I had anything to add of intelligence to some of the discussions here, but I dropped by periodically to see what was going on. It was always interesting to see the hope and the despair following wins and losses. Some of the meltdowns were epic. The sun'll still come out tomorrow, as Annie would say, but it'll just be a little more cloudy without HornFans to peruse through on a regular basis.

Rob and Katy, I wish you nothing but the best in the future. Hook 'em!

I have posted under a number of names including this name and utstudboy. Really felt as if the current management got tired of the site and mailed it in years ago. Having said that thanks to Robert and Katy for setting up such a one time great forum.

Once it was a lot of fun and provided daily information but the site has not been updated in years so I can't say I will miss it - I missed it years ago.

Thanks for the memories and the people I have met on this site

I haven't posted in a long time but this is my favorite website of all time. I enjoyed many tailgates over the years and always enjoyed being a part of the conversation. Robert & Katy both deserve a lot of praise for giving us this forum & putting up with everything all of these years.

I still wear my tshirt I got for being a sponsor years ago. Hope yall have success in everything you do! Hook Em'

Thanks for all of time and hard work that you and Katy put into this wonderful place to meet.
I always wondered how you found the time.

I have been here, mostly lurking, since early on. It was a great relief to find this site. I started out at another site where each post reply was loaded separately. IT was exasperating to try to get the info I was craving when I had to wait for pages to load through my dial-up and had to sift past one "Ditto" message after another.

I have come to expect insightful analysis and and top-level discussion here. I have enjoyed all of you who have participated here. Thank you, especially, moderators and you who have kept this Board going. It must have been a tremendous amount of work. I am amazed that this Board has lasted so long. I am not surprised at how big it became, considering the large need it filled. Thanks also for keeping the advertising to a minimum. The site has always been tasteful.

Good luck to you, Orangebolod and Katy. If I can ever buy you a beer, it will be a pittance of what you have done.

In 1995 or so I discovered the Austin 360 boards and when those died and I found hornfans I thought I made it to heaven. Quack's when it first started was the greatest forum board still to date in the history of the Internet. I remember the baseball board with great affinity. regional ray!!! That happened on hornfans and Kvet for me. I'd like to think I came of age here, but even that's complicated personally.

I don't really get the vitriol though I'm not here to ridicule it either. Yeah, I moved to shaggy when it first came online mostly because I wanted a fully free discussion of the state of the program so I could decide for myself. That place had it's heyday too and now is at times too much to bear. Thank god for VIP. Ha.

I guess that's the point, for everything a time and season.

No one doubts the allegiance of OB and LHG to the program, none at all.

Thanks for the memories, there were many.

Farewell hornfans, you were like family.

Awesome! Thank God! Now Texas Tapps can practice his misogyny elsewhere.
    How you like him now?

I joined HornFans in mid-2007. I haven't posted on here in a long while, but I have continued to read the site frequently. As a Sooner fan, I just want to say thanks, Robert and Katy, for your labor of love with HornFans, and for providing a venue where OU folks could not only learn what the true believers among our greatest rival were thinking, but engage you in conversation. I never felt mistreated on here and always felt comfortable posting. That is remarkable considering the intense passion of our rivalry and the high stakes involved in success or failure.

As an outsider, I also want to say I have always been in near-awe of the brain power, insights, and articulate eloquence of many of the posters. I have learned a lot by reading y'all, both regarding the X's and O's of football and the big picture.

May God bless each and every one of you and may both our programs soon return to our rightful stations atop the football world battling each other for championships, not just pride (years like 2008 come to mind). I'll close with the words of that great Texan Jerry Jeff Walker, whom I twice saw in concert in Norman:

"Here's to the duck who flew 'cross the lake and ne'er lost a feather,
May this time next year we all be together."
