My crystal ball is cloudy. The crystal ball weather forecast calls for clearing skies by Friday. The truth will be revealed then.
Interesting stats on the first Thanksgiving games with one in college station, one in Austin. Collie Station Combined records of the two teams: 14-8 Austin, Texas Combined records of the two teams: 15-6 College Station: 2 unranked teams playing for 5th place in their div. Austin, Texas: unranked Texas hosting #5-ranked Frogs trying to get in the playoffs. Nationally which game do you think holds the most interest? Which school do you think went all-out to schedule the game thinking their game would be the big draw that evening? Ah, the irony
Tweet from Chuck F'n Strong (@ChuckFnStrong) Try my tasty brown sugar buttered pecan yams on thanksgiving: 1. Mash Yams 2. Add Chopped Pecans 3. Imagine there is also sugar & butter
He also also said this... Chuck F'n Strong @ChuckFnStrong · People say Charlie how are you going to prepare your turkey for thanksgiving and I say Gary Patternson already look stuffed to me so stuffed
Our record against mobile QB's has me worried. I mean.... ISU scored 45 on us. Boykin can really mess us up like the BYU guy did. We'll need to score 7 more than our season average of 24 to win. Gonna be tough.
Me has a hunch Coach Vance will cook up a delicious and vicious defensive scheme to be all over Boykin next T-Day day!!! 7 sacks versus osu - I say we get at least 4 on Boykin.
I share OrangeChipper's concern: The challenge of facing a mobile QB that can throw. That said, I am cautiously optimistic. I expect that the crowd will be a factor, perhaps a huge factor in our favor. For a 6-5 team, the enthusiasm right now seems to be off the charts. Frankly, I cannot wait to be part of it.
I cunnccurr. We will beat them. Here's a highly insightful, well penned, creative and thought provoking article on the subject.
J Gray has been running the ball like an All Big XII running back. Tcu will be keyed to stop #32, so Swoopes needs to be able to throw the ball early to open up the running game. IMO, if we can run the ball like we have against Okie st and WV then we will win the game.
7 February 1962, Port Arthur (TX) News, pg. 9, col. 1: Commenting on the fratricidal tendencies of the Southwest Conference football wars, Royal reflected “history proves that the lowest team in the conference can rise up and defeat the leader. It has happened time and time again and that’s why I really wasn’t too surprised when we got beat by TCU last season. Of course, I was disappointed, but not surprised. “THAT situation is kind of like the cockroach,” he quipped, “it’s not so much what he gets into and carries away but what he falls into and messes up.” Time to shut down the Frogs.
