Cox had 36 points in 8 pt win Friday night for Flower Mound. Holmes had 13 points for Cedar Hill in a close win. Chou and Plano West apparently didn't play as no score in Dallas Morning News.

 

Was just looking around and found Lauren Cox's blog on USA Today about her commitment to Baylor. It's quite insightful but that hug with Coach Mulkey seemed really awkward. Still a good read.

ehhh we have to cut her some slack. She was just told that she had landed arguably the best player she's ever recruited. I'd probably be awkward too haha

 

I'd say Cox is a distant second to Griner.

 

I agree about Cox being behind Griner for sure, but not sure how we could even suggest she is ahead of Odyssey Sims either!!!

 

We'll agree to disagree on this one, not talking about where they are today I mean where they were coming out of High school. The Cox - Holmes tandem at 1 & 2 are head and shoulders of the Griner - Bone tandem at 1 & 2 when they were seniors in HS

 

I totally disagree with that. Everyone knew Griner was going to be a transcendent player. Kim Mulkey knew it too, which is why she specifically hired Damien to insure that she got her. I mean come on, 6'9 with that wingspan and that kind of athleticism. There has never been and will never be another player like Griner, and I'm talking about coming out of high school.

 

Griner was so far ahead of Cox that it's not even close. Cox may end up being a great player, but for sheer athleticisim, size, etc., it's not even close. Griner changed the womens' game. We do agree on how good Holmes is though. She can change the women's game. A player with that size, speed, athleticism and skill is going to make a huge impact.

 

Yep, which is why I've always said if there is any player that has the ability to be transcendent in this class it's Joyner, because of what you mentioned.
