    Represent, North Mesquite!

    A. Harris can sell the weed, J. Spoerl the 'roids, T. Brown can be the bodyguard with the gun, and Bergeron can beat up the women! Perfect combo.

We may get whipped by TCU Thursday (doubt it, though). If that is the case, it will not change that I feel Strong is the right fit here, and weeding out guys like this will positively impact recruiting and the future of the Program. [IMG]

I think Bergeron was trouble on the team> I was glad when Coach let him go
And no man should ever hit a woman.
But a woman should not hit a man either.
He was absolutely wrong but she was not an innocent victim. He deserves the suspension and maybe more.

    Does she deserve any punishment?

Haven't we all known a woman like that? For some reason some women seem to think that they are "bulletproof".

tough situation. Bergeron should get what he deserves. He is a POS for hitting her.NO MAN should ever hit a woman EVER.
However I think the school should discipline her in some way also.

So glad to have Charlie. There were a few people on this board that were vocal about the dismissals as being too heavy handed and predicting good players and recruits would never come here.

Don't see them having much to say about it now. Meanwhile guys like Daje got himself correct and is still on the team and we have a good recruiting class taking shape.

He was always tough against smaller, undersized individuals, but could never move the pile against people of equal size. I have no idea how many yards he gained at Texas and how many came against inferior opponents, but rarely was I impressed against quality teams.

Obviously, playing against the likes of ETBU, Tarleton, Angelo State, et al is more suited to his talents.

Kid obviously has a problem and I hope ETSU gets him some help before releasing him back on the streets of Dallas.

FWIW, does this chick live in the KA house?

Bergeron rushed for 25 touchdowns and 1,392 yards in three seasons as a Longhorn.

yeah ... let's not be aggylike. Bergeron was an outstanding RB & DID run-over LBs & DBs, but evidently couldn't behave.

Kinda like Edwin Simmons. A beast of a back ... but unfortunately, he couldn't stay dressed.

... Oh ... & if she assaulted Joe, she should be charged.

Being a woman doesn't give a person the right to misbehave. (I know, I know ... [IMG] )

    "Bergeron was an outstanding RB"

No. He was serviceable as a backup and ran against vastly inferior teams for three years.

Edwin Simmons healthy was a much bigger talent then Bergeron ever was or could be. Simmons frosh game against OU was unbelievable. His knees never held up, or he could of been a great one. Ran a lot like Dickerson to me. Rare combination of size and speed with pretty good vision.

    Wadster,

You are absolutely correct about Simmons. He had a degenerative ailment which should have been surgically addressed when he was younger. That ended what would have been an otherwise brilliant career. Any comparison of Bergeron and SImmons should be limited to human, male, black that played at Texas. Bergeron couldn't have shined Simmons shoes. Edwin was tough no matter who was across the line of scrimmage. Bergeron was great against third teamers in mopup time & teams like NMSU.

Irony of your reference to that piece of **** Dickerson, I used him as a shining example of why not to go to SMU. He may have been the best in D-1, and SMU was the only undefeated team in the country, yet Dickerson didn't win the Hype$man, and SMU was not voted #1. (Also quick to point out hat undefeated SMU played Pitt in The Cotton Bowl in front of a whopping 30,000 people.) I told Edwin if Dickerson was at Texas or OU, he would have won the Hype$man and been the #1 pick. His choice to go to SMU cost him millions in NFL money. I wanted Edwin's choice narrowed to Texas and OU. Edwin's mother was a member of an Assembly of God church (ironically that church also since us Stanley RIchards & a two-time NCAA track champion). Momma was fond of Barry.

uhmm .... he started until Malcom Brown arrived. Given the disaster we had at QB and the neglect of the OLine since '09 ... I'll stand by my statement. He was good enough to not be maligned for his performance on the field.

You were never seated anywhere near me. I never thought he ran hard against a quality defense until his last few games. I considered him the latest in a line of Mack Brown's lard *** running backs - Henry Melton, the kid from Madisonville. Fortunately, a couple of them became Dl and Melton has done very well at his NFL position. Don't think Bergeron has a future in the NFL.

"uhmm .... he started until Malcom Brown arrived."

uhmm... he and Brown arrived in the same class. And while Fozzy, Malcolm, and Cody Johnson all earned starts in 2011, Joe did not. He had excellent games against KU and Tech, arguably our weakest opponents not named Rice.

The only reason Bergeron got starter's reps in 2012 was the injury to Brown and slowly acclimating Gray to the game. After the Baylor game in which he dominated the short yardage, Gray took a lot of his reps away for the rest of the season, and he was barely used down the stretch. His 3rd stringer reps in 2013 echo that.

I stand corrected on his arrival .. .he DID start and he DID have a positive impact in a period which we now know wasn't stellar at a couple other areas of the offense.

I'm just saying ... don't be aggy about his departure. No need to bash his field performance ... it was better than what we have at QB right now.

    thanks.
