North pole to melt this year?

Given the recent use of global measurements I think it is too soon to tell for a true historical perspective. I mean since '81 is their frame of reference?

Here is the latest from NOAA, unlike wikipedia which seems to be stopping after 2012, which has recent data included.

Sea ice extent is global ice volume?

    You guys are so predictable.

the predictable one is you paso. you are cute in holding on to your religion with such fervour, facts be darned. but yes, we are in the midst of a large global warming pause that no one (particularly the types you get your information from) saw coming. that is a problem for you and to pretend otherwise is silly and petulant and highly unscientific.

what makes it even funnier is that even your own have abandoned you. there are MANY peer reviewed articles by those who believe in AGW who are trying to understand the pause and interpret the data which is contradicting projections year after year. the simple truth is that the atmosphere has had no statistically significant warming for 10 years from before this thread even started 7 years ago. that's quite an awkward fact for you i realize, but it is a fact nonetheless. no spin by you keeps that from being true.

hmmm, do you know what the words "statistically significant" mean? because those are the words I used quite precisely and deliberately.

Paso, you make this too easy man. you need to conceded that you are anti-science and be done with it.

Actually, I know what "statistically significant" does and does not mean. It most certainly does not mean a pause.

You really should butch up on your science if you want to play in the big boy room.

    you are cute....maybe even lovable.

if you know what statistically significant means, then you know that we have had no statistically significant warming now for over 20 years. i tend to just look at the straight pause though...which is about 12-18 years depending on which of the indices you are observing. RSS is the longest at 18 years and 2 months, but the UAH is the shortest and I believe is only up to 12 or 13 years now.

and mop does not know what statistically significant does and does not mean

he thinks it means the planet has not warmed

Wow. Which simulation was that data created from Paso? Would you share the link?

So has the North Pole melted yet?

And of course the Antarctic sea ice continues to set all-time recorded highs, but the warmists choose to disregard and disparage this inconvenient truth, as it does not fit in with their politically contrived, alarmist narrative.

I'm guessing that the Arctic nor the Antarctic won't be melting away any time soon. Who could have guessed that in 2008 when this thread started? :)
