Neither came off very professional, but IMO Billy seems more of a tool. Social media is making recruiting more crazy and dramatic - these guys make it worse. I sense aggy is starting to get butt-hurt as Daddy is taking recruits away.
As if I needed yet another reason to not have a twitter account or pay any attention to Ketchum. He actually out Aggie'd an Aggie, and that ain't easy. What a total ******* embarrassment! Does any true Longhorn fan give a rat's *** whether or not some wannabe drinks with the boy brat of the Brazos? Surely there isn't really a radio show for this ****.
I do not like Billy Liucci, Geoff Ketchum or Chip Brown. I think all do way more to hurt the teams they follow than help. They are not real reporters. There are real reporters who report on Texas, Texas A&M, etc. These people just spread gossip and bs. Sometimes those blind hogs find an acorn and get the inside scoop, but I think releasing that scoop before the university is ready is harmful. Obviously gossip, especially false gossip, is harmful. I know these dweebs cannot possibly be helpful and are almost certainly a detriment to Strong or Sumlin in recruiting. A recent example would be Ketchum in the past week being an irritant to Kyler Murray on twitter. I know that %$#^ has to be frustrating to Coach Strong and his staff. I bleed burnt orange and want to see Texas football win. I do not like those that work to prevent Texas winning. That includes our Big 12 competition on the field and in recruiting as well as the giant bozo, knucklehead, fake journalist leeches Chip Brown and Geoff Ketchum off the field.
HTown, Lunch and beer at El Patio on my next trip to Austin. If we never agree on anything else, you are absolutely correct on this. Thank you
^^^ I never remember whom I agree with or not, but I will buy both of you beer if we meet. Totally agree with this sentiment about some of these embarrassing "reporters". That exchange between two of the worst guys, just shows you why the recruits troll these guys and even feed them wrong info to mess them up.
Sounds like a HS girl catfight. I think Ketch and I also have a very different interpretation of talking "man to man". Maybe they should set up a 3-round boxing match for charity. IMHO, this makes both our fanbases look bad. And most of us read our guy's comments and cringe with the rest of the public. I mean fighting over who will be right, the guy who says 85% chance to Texas or 60% chance to Aggies. Really? At least pick a damn winner before you talk tough and challenge people.
Is it just me or does it seem Billy is much more a representative of Aggie than Ketch is of UT? I see Ketch as a guy who has hitched his wagon to the local team for career purposes but he's not an insider. Billy on the other hand seems to be. It seems Aggies approve of Billy and Ketch is just a curiosity and a filler of air-time in the middle of the day. Am I wrong on this?
Agreed with all. Ketchum is annoying and this episode would be especially embarrassing to any real journalist. What'she all concerned about "conflicts of interest". Pffft I don't think he knows what that even means. He and Chip Brown can take a leap.
In all fairness, it's not like he said it was a done deal. We demand from these guys that they tell us where a kid is likely to go, and they do their best, and some are better at it or more honest about it than others. Ketch has been right on quite a few, so if he thought it was a 60-40 shot that we would get him and it fell through... who really cares? Of course that just makes the slap-fight with Lucci look even more useless. We'd all be ticked if none of these guys were willing to go out on a limb and say where they thought a guy was leaning.
That's the thing; why the slap fight? Why defend a prediction of a recruits ultimate choice like that? He could have joked through it easily enough. They must not like each other eh?
Billy Luicci is the biggest ******* tool in the universe. He's a direct mouthpiece for the Texas A&M athletic department. Drinking with underage players is not a good thing to be doing when you a "journalist." Mark my words, one day he's going to end up doing something that pisses the entire Aggie fanbase off. Absolute loose cannon. Ketch, meanwhile, is basically just harmless.
Hehehe, well, so much for Ketchum's foray into "real journalism" He can retreat from sniffing out "conflicts of interest" now and dive back into full time professional jock-sniffing. What a fat tool.
