I was at Book People at Lamar and 6th yesterday and heard these three songs on their background music in about 30 minutes.

Is this where snek comes and posts baseball scores, from last week's games?

I will post music from a group that named the band, after the game they loved. The name got my attention back in the 80's, but the music made me a fan, and got me to buy the CD. It had a baseball title too, in "Play Deep."

    Outfield, yes!

I love the soul that Erykah Badu brings to the table. Here in this video she pays homage to some classic hip hop and other artists/records with clever art work shenanigans and also tribute to record stores, heaven for me. She's a Texas Gal, btw.

Hated that the lead guitar player,John Spinks, died last year of cancer. I remember them saying they liked baseball.

Little known fact, was that they were first a band called, "The Baseball Boys." John got the name after watching the movie "The Warriors." He saw that gang dressed up like baseball players and put the name on a demo cassette, in the early 80's.

Then later they evolved into "The Outfield," and their first CD, "Play Deep," came out.

I had "Your Love," posted too, then realized it was the second video on that playlist I posted after "Every Time You Cry." Play Deep" was quite a debut CD, with "Say It Isn't So," on there too. I see it's not on the playlist, so why not post it too.

I have to stop before I post the whole CD.

I have never given the whole CD/album a listen but have given certain songs heavy play. Maybe I should from the sound of your enthusiasm.

I was a big Outfield fan, still have it on my phone. Great power-pop type stuff.

Are there any songs by DJ snek? Maybe some Slim Whitman covers, with his special stylings?

Speaking of The Call further up the thread ... I didn’t know that the lead singer Michael Been had passed away in 2010. But I found a performance with his son, Robert Levon Been, singing in dad's place on I Still Believe. And boy does he sound like his dad.

Hold onto your mullets, actually don't, more 80's angst on the way. Good tune though, with a message. So hush, hush, keep it down now.

I of course, couldn't post this, till Tuesday.

Always liked Creedence and still watch and listen to Fogerty. Another Album I got early in life, "Cosmos Factory."

Creedence music kind of makes me think of these guys, who came along later, another cassette or CD I bought, called "Shake Your Money Maker." I thought this was some serious jam, still do.

The next two songs on this playlist, "She Talks To Angels" and Twice As Hard," were the other two big songs off that CD. They are worth a listen, for those who never heard them, and for those that have.

Nice, Koko! I like Ska. This is a fun ska tune about William Shatner.

Friggin' Costanza has me listening to Ska now and it is NOT what I need before bed. Hypes a person a tad. This is a great tune from a band that some think only had one song or hit to them. Madness shredded and it's too bad that here in the States people did not get to know this for the most part. Fun right here.

Ooof, this is where I have ended up. It's going to be a long night. I know most find this monotonous but there really are layers to this. It ebbs and flows, it pulses and takes changes both on a dime and gradually. This is a beast of an Acid House track and the 29Nov video work provided fits it very well. This is not for the weak, haha. It's likely not for anybody here but it is at a very loud volume here in the house.

The señor comrade loop snek ranting on costanza, some things never change. Maybe you should head to the bowling alley.

Better yet, cuddle up in your naugahide La-Z-Boy recliner, in your warm flannel jammies, with a bowl of Fruit Loops. Put in your favorite episode of Starsky and Hutch, that always seems to help.

I guess I should put up some music, while I am here. I put up an old Doug Sahm video, on the Mexico thread, so what about this one. His ode to the "English Ivasion," that became a hit.

He's on a show hosted by Texan, Trini Lopez.

One of the hippie chick's favorites. I'm not sure what this means for the future of our relationship.

My neighbor was cleaning out his garage and gave me one of his old balls. I'd be happy to go with snek, but Vlad doesn't let him out of the house very often.

What happens when you pair jazzy/lounge genius St. Germain with John Lee Hooker? A Sure Thing, that's what. Happy Memorial Day, y'all. Time to chill out.
