Did anyone manage to get reserved seating tickets for the regional?

I was on the phone and kept refreshing my web browser at noon today but was out of luck. I don't even think the website even offered the all day session tickets as projected.

You had to go to the "Packages" tab and create a login account to get the all-tournament passes. If it gave those instructions on the initial linked page, I overlooked it--I just noticed a message that said no events were scheduled, or something like that. By the time I got to the right page (about 10 minutes), no seats were available. I was able to get through on the telephone just a minute after they went on sale, but was told to leave my number and they'd call me back--huh? I just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience.

You got further than I did with the website.

On the phone, I would get transferred to correct dept but I did not get a live person 'til about 12:17 and then it was too late. I'm SOL!

Yeah, the process for buying a reserved seat for DBU's regional was convoluted per what STHAustin said.

I did manage to get a single reserved seat for all seven games, but as STHAustin menitioned, that was only after I figured out that the process (which wasn't stated anywhere on that site) required you to first register and get a user ID and password BEFORE it would give you the ability to click on available seats.

At noon on Wednesday, I literally watched as seats were disappearing from their seating chart. When I finally DID manage to figure out what I needed to do, there was only ONE seat left in green (versus the sea of red ones that had already been sold). I think I got the last single seat in the whole stadium.

DBU's newness to hosting a regional showed. All they had to do was to reveal that one needed to register BEFORE starting the ticket location and buying process. But without that info, and with a ticket-buying process that is different from the vast majority of other ticket sites, it was confusing and frustrating. I was going to also buy seats for a couple of friends as well, but because it took me so long to realize I needed to register first, there were no seats still available other than the one I did get.

I'm sure the new stadium is nice, but really, the NCAA shouldn't ever allow a regional in a ballpark this small. DBU is only getting the revenue they need to support their bid buy selling LOTS of GA and standing-room-only tickets. Jerrah must have told them how to do that SRO thing.

Next year, Augie needs to get his team healthy and good enough so tht we can do the regional in Austin. Then we wouldn't be playing in a stadium where the scalpers apparently bought most of the tickets and are now selling them on Stubhub for outrageous prices.

I paid $60 for seven games (total). A friend said he saw Friday's Texas game priced at $90 on Stubhub. That may have been because scalpers got on the site with apparently no quantity limits and bought up most of the tickets. That process worked out fine for DBU, but it was unfair for the fans of the other teams.

If it's true that scalpers bought lots of those tickets (and some DBU fans may have simply bought them so they sell them as well), I would imagine there will be LOTS of tickets for sale outside the stadium on Friday and many more available as teams are eliminated.

I for the most part like how DBU handled tickets. I paid damn near $40 in fees for the Rice series. I liked that I was able to get on and get tickets for DBU all in for $60 each. They are also marked as tickets, so I could get give away the games that I don't end up going to.

The only thing that was annoying is the Handicap seating and companion seats were the last available. So a section would show 8 seats left and then you'd have to click to see that there were in fact no tickets that I could in good conscious purchase.

    Yeah, I noticed that, too.

My friend told me later on the phone that he actually DOES have a handicap tag for his car. If I had known that, I would have secured one of those handicap seats for him along with one of those "companion" seats for his wife . . . .

By the time I had called him to let him know that there were no longer any reserved seats available, and he had gotten on the website to buy the handicap seats, those were all gone, too.

The whole process was confusing and not done well for non-DBU season ticket holders.

No question that DBU isn't trying to rape people who got tickets. $60 for seven tickets and $5 parking are downright reasonable. StevieP, if he had gotten a regional would have wanted $60 per game and $200 for parking, bless his little NBA-facilities-building, fired-from/run-out-of-Portland, fan-raping heart.

Washington is pulling that garbage too. I understand that building facilities is expensive. This year marks my first in almost 20 years of not going to any Husky games. I don't like going to games in Austin for the reasons you specify. Luckily I can do 10 or more Texas baseball games on the road and not give Patterson any money whatsoever.

I am pretty sure NCAA set the pricing but not 100% sure about that... $60 for the total regional sounds like what I usually paid at DFF, though it has been a while so I am fuzzy on the details. $30 for supers in the past.
A friend and I have five 8th row behind home plate and are not 100% sure if everybody will make it so we may have a few extra for sale.
Probably on a game by game basis with Friday potentially available as part of the group will tentatively arrive Saturday.
