Here is something else that is funny: Samford had a larger margin of victory over Central Michigan than OSU did.
Total Offense: Central Michigan - 59 UTSA - 96 San Diego St - 121 Texas - 98 Average Total Offense faced: OSU - 77 Cal - 110 Total Defense: Central Michigan: 30 UTSA - 101 San Diego St - 77 Texas - 118 Average Total Defense faced: OSU - 66 Cal - 101
Here let me correct my one mistake: Here is something else that is funny: Samford had a larger margin of victory over Central Arkansas than OSU did.
Hefley said: "I'm pretty sure we have a few WR's on roster as good as Lawler if not better and speed wise Jeff Carr and Jalen McCleskey can easily hang with Muhammed." Hef, I admire your loyalty and osu orange tinted glasses. But, with all due respect, Muhammed is a track star, and has one of the best 100 meter times in the Pac 12. He is big. He will play on Sundays, as will Lawler. And your Love for your QB is blind, so to speak. No NFL draft expert has Rudolf on the watch list for top college QB's. EVERY expert has Goff on their list as # 1 or top three. So please, do not drive while you are drinking whatever you are drinking.
I can explain. The combined record of Cal's opponents is 3-6, while the combined record of OSU's opponents is 1-7.
I think once you see the tiny (5'6") Jeff Carr with 4.4 speed in space on Saturday you'll see. And of course you don't see Rudolph on those lists, he's only a Sophomore.
San Diego State is 1-2 Texas is 1-2 2-4 total, I don't count FCS schools. Central Michigan 1-2 UTSA 0-3 1-5 total As I said, not much difference
The rankings of Central Michigan and UTSA makes the difference, they are terrible. The strength of UT's opponents is also a difference maker. That's the difference in opponents rankings. They speak for themselves.
I agree. That's why i posted each of the opponents Total Offense and Total Defense numbers. The stats do speak for themselves.
He's done little so far. That's gonna change in Austin? The OL is your prob. Rudolph is very good but not great.
Our running game in general hasn't done much the first two games because of UCM and UCA loading the box to stop the run. We continued to try and pound it even though out numbered. Assuming Gundy wanted game reps for our below average Guards (they are our only weak spot on the line and it has showed). We would force UTSA to unload the box by throwing and then we started getting the run game going. Unfortunately, Carr wasn't utilized much in the running game. I definitely see OSU running more tomorrow than they have the previous 3 games. They will test your D-line with Carson and Childs up the middle and with Carr and McCleskey on sweeps to the perimeter to stretch you out. Lots of play action coming tomorrow.
You responded to a Sooner by saying your offense was going to test their D-line tomorrow. I just wanted to play the semantics game you played with me earlier.
There is much more considered than the stats you put forth. Such as strength of schedule of your opponents. UT's strength of schedule makes a big difference as I said, those rankings have been around a long time and well thought of.
I agree looking at the SOS of teams played and it's actually your SOS which improved Cal's with their win. Without Cal win over Texas, the strength of schedule actually favors Oklahoma State vice Cal. Central Michigan Played: (L 30-27) @ Syracuse (W 31-10) Monmouth (FCS) UTSA Played: (L 42-32) @ #22 Arizona (L 30-3) Kansas State Central Arkansas Played: (L 16-45) @ Samford (receiving votes FCS T25) Or Grambling State Played: (L 53-56) Bethane-Cookman (W 34-10) Alabama St San Diego State Played: (W 37-3) San Diego Univ (FCS) (L 34-37) South Alabama Texas Played: (L 38-3) @ #11 Notre Dame (W 42-28) Rice
What do you mean "now"? I never count FCS schools, unless it's a loss. A win over the #1 FCS school and win over #25 FCS school should count as the same as neither team would rank in top 100 of FBS.
Notre Dame was not without their starting qb at the time and even #11 is much higher than #22. Last AP poll has Notre Dame at #6. The AP Top 25 Poll | College Football They only dropped because of the injuries and are much better than Arizona.
I was using their ranking at the time of the game. I'm not questioning ND is better than AZ, they definitely are.
Seriously, did an OSU homer hijack our game prediction thread by sparking debate that Rudolph is better than a top-3 QB in the next NFL draft? No one is saying Rudolph isn't good or the OSU offense isn't potent. What everyone knows is Cal's offense and Goff are better and would hang 40+ with ease on every patsy you've played so far. Let's just get back to game predictions and stop this ridiculous debate with asinine claims.
I think OK State hasn't been tested. They passed some seriously minor hurdles by pulling it off against Central Michigan, arguably the best team they've faced (who's also about #100 in the country). I think even if we give up a bunch of points like last week, we hold firmer against the run and win by about 7-10.
