I'm not sure if we'll offer him unless we need a semi-splash or we have extra room. There's no doubt Davis has - what we in the business like to call - G40A skills. I know we're in the mix with Lil'Jordan Humphrey as a receiver/death ray, which he seems to be okay with.

If we do catch Davis, it may lead to even more receiver attrition (currently, my guess is we'll lose 1-2 already).

What do you think? Am I way off here?

"When my mom arrives in Florida I'll talk it over with her one more time before I make it," Delance said. "I'll base my decision on playing time, the degree you can get, how the coach is close to my family especially my mom and grandma. And how the position coach has recruited me."

    Per TFB:
Under Armour All-America Game: If you follow Texas recruiting, I highly suggest you watch the Under Armour All-America Game on January 2nd. There will be multiple top Texas targets in the game, also a few of those targets will be making their commitments during the game. These recruits will be playing in the game:
Those are some players Texas fans are dying to get in the 2016 class. They may add a few of them that day.

This could be shaping up to be an absolute HUGE day for Texas and their 2016 class. So as I said before, I’d tune in.

Higs is sticking with his Top 10 prediction for this class.
We have 12 verbals which leaves room for 13 more in a 25-man class (although he says its possible we could sign 26 or 27 if things break perfectly). He also thinks we currently have some silent commits.

Here is his "Top 20 recruiting board" for those remaining spots, "in no particular order ...... Its not a mock class but I feel GREAT with a ton of kids on that list....These are the kids you need to pay attention down the stretch if you are a Texas fan."

    Jean Delance
    Eric Cuffee
    Irvin Smith
    Jeffrey McCulloch
    Brandon Jones
    Zach Shackelford
    Lil’Jordan Humphrey
    Devway Whaley
    Erik Fowler
    JP Urquidez
    Dontavious Jackson
    Patrick Hudson
    D’Andre Christmas Giles
    Kyle Porter
    Mike Williams
    Mark Jackson
    Deontay Anderson
    Marcel Southall
    Jordan Elliott

The QBs at this game we liked are Malik Henry, Woody Barrett and Dwayne Haskins so it was one of these three who said it.

I could understand a situation where a coach tells someone that they've got one QB slot and 3 other offers out there as a way to push for an early commitment.

I think so. It appears him, DV Jackson, and a few others are going somewhere together, with some of them announcing at the game. Maybe it is an informal arrangement (nothing written in stone), but an arrangement nonetheless.

    - DE Alton Robinson (A&M commit) continues to keep in touch with the Texas staff.
    - RB Kyle Porter will not announce his decision before the dead period is over.
    - There's a chance DE Justin Madubuike (A&M commit) takes an OV to Texas, but not 100% sure.
    - OL Zach Shackelford has not said when he will announce.
    - Dontavious Jackson and Jeffrey McCulloch are two kids who will likely delay their announcement all the way to NSD.

Gilbert and Mattox were seen rehearsing for tomorrow. They seem a bit anxious, but that's a good thing.

If I had choose between those threesomes above, which would be a very tough choice, I'd have to go with the stooges. I mean, you've got Curly, who steps in immediately at center, giving us needed help in the O line; then Moe, who may be the most violent comic of all time--so you've got the physicality that Charlie loves, then Larry, who will fit in nicely on the sideline waving the towel to get the fans into it. :coolnana:
